I said wake him up, not make him go deaf

December 15th

"DYLAN! ITS 10 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!" I yell in Dylans ear.

"I said wake him up. Not make him go deaf Evelyn" my mom yells from the top of the stairs.

"Hey, you said wake him up. And I woke him up" I yelled back. All I hear is my mom laughing. I walk out of dylans room and begin walking upstairs. While walking up the stairs I hear Dylans door open.

"Hey Evelyn" I hear Dylan say. I turn around.

"9 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS EVE" Dylan says running past me up the stairs.

"HEY" I yell running after him. By the time we get to the kitchen table, Dylan and I are both out of breath. We quickly eat breakfast and I go upstairs to change before getting into dylans car and driving to set.

"So are you gonna help me learn to drive tomorrow?" I ask.

"Oh so as soon as you turn 15 you want me to teach you to drive? You think youre so grown up?" He asks with a laugh

"Well moms a spazz when it comes to driving, dads never home and I can't exactly teach myself so ya" I say

"Sure thing kid" he answers. I laugh and smile.

A few minutes later we arrive on set. I wave bye to Dylan as I find Caleb.

"Hi" I say hugging him. He hugs back.

"Last day of being 14" he says smiling. I nod my head.

"And last day of never seeing Star Wars." I laugh. I give him one more hug before going to hair and makeup.

The day goes by quickly and before I know it I'm getting ready to leave. We still have filming tomorrow even though I'm only staying until 1ish and then I'm going to Caleb's. And at about 6 we are all going out to eat for my birthday. My parents, Dylan, Tyler, Caleb and Nicole. And whoever else from the cast wants to go. They're all family.

"You ready to go?" Dylan asks me. I nod my head yes and we walk to his car. As we are driving I look at my phone.

Calendar: December 15, McKenna Johnson 15th Birthday

My heart stops for a second.

"Dylan..." I say quietly.

"Mhm?" He asks. When I don't answer he looks at me.

"Hey what's wrong? In a couple hours you'll be 15" he says. I stare at my phone. He quickly looks over to my phone screen lit up.

"Oh Evelyn, I'm sorry." He says quietly

"How could I forget? We were best friends and we always had to make sure our birthday parties weren't on the same day" I say. Tears fill my eyes.

"Hey hey hey. It's ok. Just do some of that praying stuff and apologize" he says. Even on the worst situations he can always make me laugh. I nod. We continue driving. The drive is about 20 minutes from his house. It feels much longer tonight for some reason. Soon I feel my eyelids getting heavy and I fall asleep.

December 16
9:45am

"Happy birthday kiddo" I hear Dylan whisper in my ear. My eyes flutter open. It takes me a second to comprehend what's happening and where I am. I was driving with Dylan and I remembered it was McKennas birthday then I fell asleep now I'm awake and it's my birthday. ITS MY BIRTHDAY

"ITS MY BIRTHDAY" I say sitting up quickly. Dylan stumbles back

"Ya. That's kinda why I said happy birthday" Dylan laughs. I jump out of bed and get into an outfit I picked out for this special day. I walk into my bathroom and change. I walk out and twirl for Dylan. He smiles. We walk downstairs and eat before leaving. Dylan lets me pick what we listen to in the car. Obviously I pick one direction.(small obsession). Dylan rolls his eyes but still sings along. Gotta love him. We are both singing and I'm playing air guitar and everything you can imagine. While thinking about tonight- birthday dinner, and Star Wars with Caleb.

Suddenly I see a car. Coming fast. Right through the stop sign. And into the passenger side of the car. I let out a scream.

I hear Dylan yell.

"EVELYN!" He screams.

That's all I hear because the rest of the world is black.

A/N- cliffhanger. The next chapter will have Dylans pov of the accident. And then a couple chapters will be from Dylan and some of Evelyn's pov. Kinda switching back and forth. Cuz Evelyn will b in the hospital and kinda out for awhile so I'll have it be mostly dylans pov. Hope this makes sence. Y'all will understand eventually. Lol. Love y'all ❤️
