Cara Campbell's POV

I had wanted a mate for a long time. I won't care who he is as long as his mine.

When I went to school as usual with Jack- my father's third in command who is the same age as I am, a powerful smell hit my nose. I was so lost in it that Jack had to snap his fingers in front of me a few time.

The wolf in me knew what it was. My mate.

I was looking around from where the source of smell was coming from. The smell was fading away.

"Jack, call all the pack members to meet me up at the back of the school. Now"

"Why?" he looked bewildered. Probably thinking that something might be up.

I shook my head. "I need to make sure of something. There's no danger".

He focused on mind-linking everyone from our pack. Once I have check the members and he's not there then only the humans are left to search in.

I look around the crowd of wolves who looked confused and scared. The smell is not here at all. A human then? Looking at Jack I just shook my head before entering the school halls as quickly as I could.

To see my mate is the most important thing now.

Entering the halls the smell grew stronger and I hear a couple of people talking nearby.

Not too far away I saw a boy and a girl. Then his eyes fell upon me. The girl kissed him and his eyes shot wide open.

My mate was kissed by another girl.

What in the actual freaking fuck?

Looking at him I almost immediately recognize him. He's Erick Shaw, an Omega from my pack.

My heart felt like it was torn apart at that scene. Masking my pain I walked away as if I don't recognized him but deep down I left trail pieces of my heart behind me.

"Cara! There's a fight at the cafeteria" one of my human friends told me. I arched an eyebrow at her.

"Who?"

"Josh and um if I'm not mistaken the kid named Erick?" she thought to herself.

I immediately left the library and followed the trail of smell from my mate to the front lot of the school lot and I saw Josh was accompanied by members of the pack to get away.

Jack was already inspecting his wounds. I walked over keeping my cool. This is a matter of my pack members no matter what. As future Alpha I need to look over it.

"What happened Jack?" I asked not looking at Erick. "Just a misunderstanding. It's settled now" Jack replied.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, Josh was overreacting to be honest. His girlfriend kissed Shaw on the cheek to wish happy birthday and this boy got the beating here" he explained.
