Erick Shaw's POV
I don't know how it happened. After I got out from the shower, I was kissing with Cara. Now she was on top of me just in her bra and panties. My bruises and wounds are still visible bit has started healing. Even Cara's wound looks better.
Now that I look at her, her slightly wet hair after her bath makes her looks almost innocent.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" she asked.
I shook my head. "I just feel that you're beautiful. I'm sorry too about.. the fight just now".
She kissed me, as her hands loops around my neck lazily. I found my hands tracing her back.
As the kiss got intense, I needed more of her but I stop the kiss. "We need to rest" I smiled at her. I was tired and the healing is draining more energy.
"I know" she rolled her eyes playfully before we tuck ourselves into the bed and fall asleep.

It's been two weeks since that incident. The Alpha couldn't anything also since there was no lead and where it happened was a secluded place. So we drop the subject but I had to be more guarded since there's no way it was just a coincidence.
Cara has been following me everywhere like a lost puppy. Honestly I didn't mind, I actually like the company from her.
I was now in the gym practicing with Jack. Cara was taking a nap in her room so it gives me a chance to the gym.
"So-"
"What?"
I was looking at Jack my sparring partner. "When will you guys mate?".
"I... I don't know Jack"
"Seriously?"
"Yup"
"Why?"
"Is it the right time? Am I good enough or is she ready to be with me forever?"
Jack just laughed at me. "I'm pretty sure everyone is more than good enough for their mate. And for her or even yourself to be here until now sums up that you guys are ready. You must just be scared" he shrugged.
I look down at the floor. "I guess so. I'll talk to her later".
When both Jack and I were done, we headed to the pack house but came across Tyler who looked to be in a rush. "Yo Tyler, what's up?" Jack called.
"I just went to the south border. The guards have been sensing some people being there but they couldn't get ahold of the smell. So I went there and inspect. It felt suspicious but there was no smell or trace. So I'm heading to see the Alpha. You guys get ready in 10 and Erick go and call Cara."
He didn't give us a chance to reply before leaving.
After I finish my short and quick shower in Cara's room I woke her up. Groggily she followed me down to the Alpha's office.
When Tyler explained it all everyone looks to be in a tense position. "It's just like the people that attacked Erick. They had no smell nor trace" Cara clenched her teeth.
"It's better if we don't make any assumptions. We have to double or patrols, add more guards as a group and shorten the time where they exchange places or pass each other. It's even better if one higher ranks patrol the whole border just in case. A few times a day or something. Do different patterns and confuse them" I suggested.
"I agree with Erick. But we should go as a pair if we want to help the guards patrol. At least we'll have backup. The south border may just be a distraction before the snoop in through other holes. But let's not focus too much on that" Cara said with full Alpha mode on.
When the meeting was over, Cara and I headed to the porch where we sat there on the comfortable sofa together.
"Cara" I look at her.
She was fiddling with her phone but answered a 'yeah'.
"Are you... uh like- y'know... readytomatewithme?" I was speaking incoherently and then I talk fast like fool.
She puts her phone away. Her face puts on a sceptical look. I was quite afraid I would be rejected but she then smiled and giggled.
"I was ready a long time ago" she hugged me.
"Now we just need to follow the flow" she wink at me.
