                                          -Rupi Kaur;
                                           Milk and Honey

She didn't know how to act after that night. After she saw galaxies in his eyes, and saw the light he offered to her, in this seemingly infinite darkness.

She watches as the people move past her in the corridor, no one acknowledges her anymore, they'd moved on to talk about new drama, which was mostly stimulated by the Halloween dance.

Ethan and Summer had recently moved from friends to 'i don't know what this is yet, but we're almost together'.

Margo and Simon hadn't really spoke since, in history Simon had moved to sit back next to JJ rather than sitting next to Margo- probably had enough of the negative attention he got from sitting near her.

Margo hears the bell ring so she heads towards her lesson- biology. She shared this class with Summer luckily. She reaches the classroom in a matter of minutes, taking her seat at the table designed to house 4 people.

Vik arrived straight after her, sitting down in his seat opposite her.

Summer arrives two minutes late, saying she got held up in the corridors. She then takes her seat beside Margo.

"Where's Sam?" Summer asks Vik who shrugs.

"I heard he got moved down a set," Says Kim from the next table.

"Oh, mad," Vik comments and after 10 minutes of Mr Harris droning on about coursework the door swings open.

"New student?" Asks Mr Harris.

"Yeah," The person answers, stepping into the classroom.

"Sort out your shirt and tie and take a seat beside Vikram please," Says Mr Harris.

Margo gulps, watching the lanky, blonde step towards the table. She observes him as he tucks in his shirt, and tightens his tie.

He throws his bag on the floor and slumps into his seat.

"Whats up man?" Vik asks, looking at the taller, older boy.

"Got swapped with Sam, innit," Simon says and Vik nods.

"How are you two lovely ladies anyway?" Simon asks, offering a smirk towards Margo.

Fuckboy. Was the word that ran through Margo's head.

Suddenly Summer kicks Margo under the table, moving her eyes from Margo to Simon, effectively suggesting Margo talks to Simon.

"Fine, thanks," Margo replies, frowning at the boy that was sat opposite Summer.

Summer glances at Vik, the air was filled with tension.

"And you?" Summer asks, looking at Simon.

"Great, thanks Summer," Says Simon who smiles widely.

"Are you okay?" Summer whispers to Margo when Simon begins chatting to Vik.

"Just great," Margo mumbles, getting on with her work.

Margo was annoyed with Simon, he hadn't spoken to her one bit since that night, and although she hadn't spoken to him, she was disappointed in this fact.

"Margo can I talk to you after the lesson?" Mr Harris asks.

"Yes, sir," Margo replies and Mr Harris nods before stuffing a sandwich into his mouth.

Soon enough the lesson ends with no more incidents with Simon. Margo stays seated, waiting for everyone else to leave.

Eventually, when the last person hurries out the classroom she stands up, pulling her backpack over her shoulders. She sweeps out her hair and walks to the teachers desk.

"I'd like to ask you how you've been feeling?" Mr Harris asks.

"Very well, thank you," Margo says and Mr Harris nods.

"Good, so I expect you'll be back contributing to lessons as your normal self very soon?" Mr Harris asks and Margo nods.

"Of course," She says and she walks to the door.

She heads outside and is met by the smile of Simon Minter, he was leaning against the lockers opposite the door, one foot leant against it and his arms folded.

"What do you want?" She asks, looking at him with her large eyes.

"Nothing in particular, just the pleasure of your company," Says Simon.

"Please," She mumbles, beginning to walk away.

"Margo whats wrong?" He asks, walking after her.

"I just, I need time," Margo says and Simon stops.

"Time? Time for what?" He asks and Margo stops, slowly turning round to look at him.

"Did you really just fucking ask me that?" She asks, she could feel the tears already.

"What?" He asks and she rolls her eyes and turns around.

She walks away, Simon follows quickly, eventually walking beside her.

He grabs her wrist, spinning her to face him.

And right there, in the middle of an empty corridor he moves closer to her, pushing a strand of escaped hair over her ear.

Her lips part at the sudden feeling of his fingers on her cheek.

She looks into his eyes before he tilts her chin up slightly, pressing his lips daringly to hers.

It was a strange sensation. Confusing. Margo liked it. And so did Simon. It was like a supernova- emotions, thoughts- everything poured out of them.

Slowly, the pull apart, Simon's cheeks burning red, Margo's lips swollen.

"I have to go," Margo mumbles, her head pounding.

"Okay," He whispers, "I'm sorry,"

She nods, turning and walking away.

She didn't like walking away, but it was all she could do, she couldn't stay there like that, she had to get away from it all- from all that was expected of her.

She leaves school early, she had to escape.

Once she arrives back home both her parents are out so she just hides away in her room, wrapping herself up in her blankets thinking of one name, one face, one person, the name of whom was none other than Simon Minter.
