7 months 3 weeks pregnant
Demi was at the airport with her friends. It was nine in the morning. Their flight didn't leave till noon. School started the next week.
While they were waiting for the call to board, the group talked about when they would meet up again. Christmas? Easter? Ped Days? They didn't know but they Demi promised to Skype her friends once a week at the least.
Nicki walked over to them with a scowl on her face. Over the summer, as the pregnancy progressed, Nicki had grown more irritable and the teens tried to stay out of her way a much as possible.
"Can you believe it! I was waiting in that line in that fucking bathroom... I was the next one to go in when whichever woman came out the bathroom next and that bitch behind me ran into the stall that had just opened up only to fix her make up. There's a damn mirror in front of the sinks. Like seriously! You're make up takes precedence over a pregnant woman needing to pee!"
Demi, Mik and Jaz got up to talk to the woman in private. It seemed that other than Carol, those three were the only ones who could pacify a pissed off Nicki without getting their heads chopped off as well.
"I may not have known you for very long, but I'm gonna miss both of you. And if I don't get a chance to tell Jaz, could you tell her that for me?" Brianna was getting chocked up. Shawna and Jay get up from where they are sitting and went to go hug Bri. Even though they only had a portion of the three months that they were in Malibu to get to know this girl, they had become very close. The same went with Mikaelah.
Demi, Nicki, Mik and Bri were walking out the airport when they heard someone calling out. "Bri! Mik!" The group turned around to see two girls quickly walking over to the them.
"Kammy! Jay!" Mikaelah and Brianna ran over to the two girls and crushed them in hugs then walked them over to the other two who were just standing there awkwardly. "You guys, these are the twins Jayline and Kamryn," Mikaelah introduced.
"Call me Kam."
"And I prefer Jay."
"You mind if I call you Lynn. You see, I already have a friend back home in New York and his name is Jay. By the way my name's Demi."
"No problem. I completely understand... So you're the girl who Nicki adopted. You're prettier than I thought. It won't be hard to hook you up with one of the guys."
"Jay!" Kamryn slapped her sister on the shoulder. "What! A girl that hot cannot stay single."
"Actually, I have a boyfriend back home. His name is D-"
"Damian. Says so on the necklace. Did he give that to you. That is so romantic." Kam was really excited.
"Yeah. And he has a chain with my name on it. We gave each other something since I moved here for the year."
Brianna cut in before they could get any deeper into the conversation and probably never leave the airport. "So, when is your dad getting here?" Kam explained that they hadn't called him yet to say that they had gotten in. Nicki offered to drive them home since they were leaving and she had to drop Brianna off anyways.
The girls took Nicki up on the offer and followed her out to the Grand Caravan that she had bought at the beginning of the summer since she had driven the gang around most places. And she would be needing it anyways when the baby came in roughly a month.
Nicki was really excited. Her mom had planned a baby shower with Demi and they had it the month before. With it Nicki had gotten almost everything she needed. She had bought the change table and crib with Demi and Jaz two weeks after the shower and now she was as prepared as she could be for a baby items wise. She had also gone to classes and watched birth videos. If birth looked as nasty as it did in the videos, she was glad that she would not be seeing anything at the rear end. But if it was as painful as it sounded well, she hoped it wasn't that bad.
The girls in the back talked about Kam and Lynn;s vacation to their grandmother's and school. They explained how everything would work to Demi since she would be joining them. Basically what would happen is, they would walk with her into the school and introduce her to their friends, she would sign up to join the dance crew, she would get in and then there would be a whole lot of technical clique stuff to deal with.
Nicki had arrived at the twins' place and before they jumped out. Bri told them that what ever they did. Not to mention anything about Demi and who she was to anyone on the team so that she wouldn't be judged harder than anyone else auditioning.
Demi dropped to the couch as she turned on the tv. She was about to change the channel when she tuned into the fact that they were talking about her. "Of course Nicki is going to send Demetria back. The only reason she adopted her int he first place is because she wanted kids and now that she's pregnant... why would she keep the girl?"
"Well, shouldn't we keep in mind that she has been living with Nicki for nearly a year now and that the two of them could actually be quite close now and that Nicki sending the girl back could damage her even more?"
"Do you seriously think that Nicki adopted the girl for her well-being. No. The only reason celebrities do anything nowadays is to further their fame and Demetria is only a pawn like all the other people who Nicki has been involved with through the course of her career. I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow it was all over the news that the sixteen year olds bags were packed and she was on her way back to New York." Just then the tv turned off.
Demi blinked and realized that nicki was standing beside the tv. She walked over to the girl and knelt down in front of her. "Demi." The girl who had her phone in her hand, unlocked it and went on twitter. Ever since the airing of that segment on whatever show it was Demi had been getting hate tweets. One of the trends on Twitter was #SendDemiBack. The tweets are so horrendous that I can't even repeat them in this story without havong to raise the rating.
Nicki took the the phone from her hands. "Demi," Nicki pleaded, begging the girl to look at her. It took all the strength the girl had to do so. "Don't listen to any of them you hear me," she reprimanded softly. "They don't know who you are, who I am. They don't know the thoughts going through my head. They think I'm a heartless bitch who would put you out the minute I could. The truth is I couldn't get rid of you even I wanted you. Wanrt to know why?" Demi nodded slightly. "Because I love you. I love you Demi. I love you like you were my own daughter. And I hope you decide to stay here to be the best big sister you can to your brother." She then raised her right arm and wiped all the tears from Demetria's face.
"Now help me up. My legs are hurting with this wait holding me down." Demi laughed and pulled Nicki up.
Before Nicki could walk away Demi pulled her into a hug. "Thank you Nicki... I have something I would like to record in the studio."
"Come on then."
"Hey BARBZ. So this is the last concert I'll be performing in a bit and to start it off my daughter Demi has something she would like to say."
"Hey guys. So this afternoon there was this talk show the had said some pretty mean things about me and Nicki and hurt me a lot. After a well needed talk with Nicki I made a cover more for myself but I would like to share it with y'all:
I stare at my reflection in the mirror
Why am I doing this to myself?
Losing my mind on a tiny error
I nearly left the real me on the shelf
No, no, no, no, no,no
Don't lose who you are in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing
Everybody's bruising
Just be true to who you are
Who you are, who you are, who you are
Who you are, who you are, who you are
Who you are, who you are, who you are
Brushing my hair, do I look perfect?
I forgot what to do to fit the mold, yeah
The more I try the less it's working, yeah, yeah, yeah
'Cause everything inside me screams
No, no, no, no, no,no,no,no
Don't lose who you are in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart
But tears don't mean you're losing
Everybody's bruising
There's nothing wrong with who you are
Yes, no's, egos, fake shows like whoa
Just go and leave me alone
Real talk, real life, good life, good love
With a smile, that's my home, that's my home, no
No, no, no, no, no
Don't lose who you are in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing
Everybody's bruising
Just be true to who you are
Yeah, yeah, yeah
