Eternally bound to each other
with ribbons of river
and knots made of sky.
We are only flickers
together
but no one knows why.
Go on,
show me something
worth my time-
And then
maybe
we can sever the ties
With our trembling fingers.
Once the knots are undone
there'll be no more goodbye's.
Don't worry darling,
I'll still love you,
Try not to cry.
We draw closer
so the only thing between us
is a lie.
A lie
made of sky
no one knows why
and my time
is wary of the ties
loosening under no goodbyes
and ripping like paper hearts as you cry.
