Chapter 10

I thought about it a bit more. Kyle wouldn't tell, Jaylie wouldn't tell, no body would tell of course, but that's not what I worried about. I worried mostly about Nexus' past, if he really was abused then it will take a while for him to recover. Miranda came bounding at the mention of our new arrival. Kyle must have told her, "Hi!" She said stopping infront of us. "Hi, this is Ja-" she cut me off, "Jaylie. I already know." She said with a smile. "Are you excited to be able to ride horses, Jaylie?" Miranda said leaning down infront of little Jaylie. "Yes!" She said practically jumping up and down. I introduced her to pumpkin, Feather, Appi, and she already knew Nexus so I thought she would like to meet Grey. "What kind of coat color is that?" She asked. "He's a dapple grey gelding, you will learn about what a gelding is later." I said, "we should head home, we can get you set up in the house." She nods as we walk out of the barn. Tomorrow was Saturday, a show for Appi and Feather. "I have a show for Appi and Feather tomorrow, it's just me Katie and Kyle competing tomorrow, you can sit with Miranda, Kylee, and Bri." I say "They are staying for all of the events im in, which is barrel racing, jumping, and dressage, Kyle is in jumping only." She nods and tilts her head.

"Who's Kylee, Bri, and Katie?" She asked "You will meet them in the morning, after all that traveling you must be tired," I say looking down at her as the house comes into view. She nods. "Wanna race?" She asks with that evil smirk.

"You're on, 1....2....3....GO!" I say taking off full speed. She lags behind, hot on my tail. We reached the front door, dads still not home.  Normal.

"Dad should be home in a few hours. What do you want to eat?" I say taking a seat at the kitchen table, she does too. "Spaghetti!" She yells jumping up. "Ok spaghetti it is then! Im going to invite everyone over for dinner then, if that's ok?" I ask getting the ingredients.

"Yes!" She says. I smile and grab my phone out of my pocket and get on Kik to the group messages. "Hey ppl wanna come over to have dinner with me n Jaylie? We R having spaghetti tonight ;P"
I slip my phone back into my pocket and put the meat into the sink for about 30-45 minutes to unthaw.

I grabbed the remote to the Tv and gave it to Jaylie. "Turn on whatever you like, cartoons are channel 299,  animal planet is 282, music is in the 400's, and movies are in the 500's." I say.

She nods and clicks 282 which is animal planet. Personally animal planet and the cartoons are my favorite channels. I have all the ingredients out and ready to use, the noodles won't be boiled until im almost done with the sauce.

"Thirsty?" She nods. "Tea, water, or a coke?" She taps her chin, acting dramatic of the choices.

"Hm. Coke." She smiles. I grab her a coke and pour myself a cup of tea. I walk over and give her coke to her then take a seat for myself watching Tv.

Animal cops Houston is on, my favorite show for some reason.(It does not come on at night but it is my favorite show! XD on with the story!)

I see Jaylie frown a little starring at the Tv. "What's wrong?" I asked concerned. We were currently on a case about neglected horses. "That horse looks like Chico," she said.

"Well it's not Chico, he has you. He won't be neglected I promise." I say. I hear the doorbell ring.

"Come in!" I yell. Everyone rushes to the table. Jaylie turns on the music to the country station. I got up and went to the sink to check the meat. It was unthawed mostly. I got out the skillet to put the seasoned meat in. I put the meat in and browned it, put the seasoning in, then got a pot and filled it with water and put the noodles on the stove.

Just as I was finishing making my friends and cousin a bowl of spaghetti, my favorite song, 'blue ain't your color' by Keith urban comes on. And of course, every cook does it I start singing along.

I realize Kennedy wasn't here, "hey where's Kennedy guys?" I ask. That's when I turned around to see everyone was dancing, except Kyle. "She said she would be a little late. Read the messages sometime?" Kyle says walking over to me. "Guess what?" Ok im suspicious. "What?"

"Blue ain't your color." This was funny in a weird way."Yea horses are dingbat." I said and set the bowls down.

"Dinners served." I sat down with everyone else. We said the blessing, and dug into the delicious food. "We should get a dog." Said Jaylie. "Every farm has one."

I took that into mind and continued to eat, I haven't ate anything really at all today.
