Chapter 12

I woke up at my normal time for the weekend, 6:00 am. I realized Kyle fell asleep too. I tensed, my dad probably knows. Eh, screw or we didn't do anything but fall asleep watching a movie together.

I get up, waking up Kyle and Jaylie then text the girls. "Wake up ppl! We have a show to go to!" I send it then put on my barn clothes to load the horses and stuff.

I walk into the bathroom and change, brush my hair, and add a light coat of eyeliner. I put my hat on, and go to get Jaylie ready.

She picks out a cute outfit. She put on a short sleeved plaid shirt, blue jeans, and brown boots with a cowboy hat I had when i was little. "Can you make my hair wavy?" She asked.

"Yes I can hun, but let me get ready first. Kyle must have for up, he wasn't in my bed anymore. My bed I thought. If dad saw, he will kill us. We had an hour drive ahead of us, the show will be at 1:00 so we have plenty of time. We will rent a hotel room, dad is giving us money for food, drinks, medical, horse food, and the room. Kennedy will be driving us, "who's going to take care of Nexus?"

I decided to call Alea while walking to the barn. After the second ring she picks up.

"Hey Leigh, what's up?" She asks. "Hey I need you to do me a solid and come get Nexus for a couple days, we are fixing to head up to the show." I tell her calmly. "Maybe you can do some work with him." She takes a moment to think. "Ok. Is your dad home?" I reply. "No." She breathes deep and calm. "Ok be over in five."

With that she hung up. I jogged to the barn but walked once I got inside.

I walked to Nexus' stall first to feed him. I walked inside his stall slowly, careful not to spook him. I have the lead with me, I shut the stall door. I reached my hand out to pet him, he stood still breathing calm.

"Don't be playing tricks on me boy," I say laughing a little. I give him an alpha cube and I clip the lead on. I open the door back up and walk him to the cross ties.

I would attempt to groom him. I clip him on and walk to grab some brushes. I brush his tangled mane and tail first.

I admired his beautiful coat and tangle free mane and tail, as well as his shiny hooves. ALEA walks into the barn.

"Sorry, had some problems with my car again." She rolls her eyes. "Anyways, we should see if he loads alright." She says.

"Okie dokie." I say walking him to the trailer. He is alert about Alea, reasonable.

He saw the trailer, he swiveled his ears, but kept walking wih no problems. Im suspicious.

I walked him up the ramp, he jerked the lead a few times, but otherwise did awesome. I gave him a peppermint. Shh. I tied him up, gave him four flakes of hay for the ride there and some to spare when he gets there.

Alea gets in the car, rolls her window down and shuts the door. "Oh, yea I found someone to shoe Nexus, remember how my dad had a friend named Jason? Well he knows im his daughter so he will do it for free!" She said.

"Awesome! I owe you." I tell her. "But I must get ready for the show." She nods. "I understand, j will work with Nexus though. How many days am I keeping him?" She asks. "Three- four days." I tell her with a smile.

"Send me pics?" She smiles. "Send you pics." She backs out of our longggg driveway like a pro. I run back to the barn to get to the tack room.

I put all my show clothes and gear into my suitcase, and my trunk. Luckily, it has wheels. I take my trunk and show-suitcase to the horse trailer which is already hooked up. I go back to the barn, I get Appi, Feather and Grey.
