Comforting Him

It was a lovely day at the Higa household, until your brother called you to take care of his four year old son.

Bitch Bro: can u take care of Nathan please?

You: lemme check with Ry first

Ryan probably had to film tomorrow, and an energetic little boy running around wouldn't make it easier.

You ran downstairs to find Ryan on his laptop eating a hot pocket.

"Ry?" You say pulling up a seat next to him.

"Wassup?" He says taking a bite of his hot pocket and looking at you.

"Soooo... There may be a slight change in plans today." You take a deep breath. "Mynephewiscomingtodayandihopeyouareokwiththisbecauseicantleavemybrohanginglikethatpleasebabe." You say while gasping for air.

"Yeah I'm fine. RHPC and I decided to take a short 2-3 day break anyways." He says moving on to his next hot pocket.

"Thank you thank you thank you Ryyyyy!" You say running away and texting your brother to tell him to bring him over.

Soon enough, the little ball of energy arrived.

Your POV

"And please make sure he takes his vitamins! Love ya sis. Cya later!" He says in a rush to his car.

Must be in a rush. I thought and took Nathan's mini bag off him and sat it on the table by the door.

"Hi Nathan! I missed you soooo much." I said as I kissed his forehead.

"Hi Auntie y/n! I-" he saw Ryan walking pass and ran to him completely stopping mid-sentence. Guys. You thought rolling your eyes.

"Hey bud!" He says while crouching down to his level. "Wanna go play with Marley and Teddy? And a special new puppy?" Nathan's eyes lit up with joy.

"YAY NEW PUPPY!" He says running  about the run down the stairs but I catch him.

"Be careful Nath, you could get hurt running down the stairs." He nods and walked slowly down the steps and waits for Ryan to take the gate away.

I smile and walk down to the living room to watch tv.

*30 minutes later*

There was nothing on tv. There never seemed to be anything on tv whenever I  wanted to watch tv. I kept scrolling through the guide until I heard a squeal from the backyard. I run to see what was going on. When I get to where they were, I see Nathan's face with tears and Ryan running towards him.

I tell him to get the dogs back inside while I pick Nathan up to take him to the bathroom.

Once I make it to the bathroom, I sit him on the counter and I get the first aid kit out. I clean his scrape and wipe his tears. Afterwards, I sit him down for his nap.

I go back downstairs and see Ryan with his head in his hands. I go over to him and sit next to him.

Narrator's POV

"Ry, it wasn't your fault. This happens to kids, especially boys." You say comforting him.

"I know, but I was in charge of him. I just feel like it was my fault." He says while going back to his previous position.

You were the absolute best at comforting people, so you say-

"Well, let's cry together."

Out of all the things you could've said...

like when he almost fell in the pool or he stopped Marley from pushing him into Olly.

Oh well...
