Wolf's Howl [Stopped]{First Version}

|Chapter 9|

The man nearly laughed at the absurdity of being threatened by a blind girl. He controlled himself when he saw that the girl was completely serious. Her eyes showed a completely wild animal inside. One that would easily kill.

He suddenly felt a wave of fear and gulped very loudly. The girl heard and smirked, still holding the dagger at his throat.

"Well?" asked the girl again. Her patience was running thin and this was evident in her voice.

Just as the man was about to speak, the door slid open which startled both Mizuki and the man. The man realised this and took advantage of the moment. Before the girl could realise what he was planning, she was already pinned down with her own dagger held against her throat.

"Kenji!" yelled the person at the door. His voice was filled with warning. "Don't forget our deal."

Kenji heard the warning in the newcomers voice and decided to get off the girl. He didn't, however, remove the dagger.

"Jun!" yelled Mizuki, relief in her voice. She moved her head in the direction of his voice and had a hopeful look on her face.

An arm soon wrapped itself around her body followed by another arm. She stiffened at first before she realised that it was Jun hugging her.

"Everything is fine, Mizuki, don't worry," said Jun, trying to reassure the young girl. She had started to shake as the adrenaline wore off.

Kenji slowly stood up and stayed silent to watched the pair. A million thoughts went through his mind but his face didn't show any of these. His face was completely blank. Like a mask.

As Jun was murmuring reassurance to Mizuki, Kenji interrupted them.

"I'm sorry to interrupt," he said mockingly, "but I do have unfinished business so...."

He stopped as he watched the girl angle her face towards his. He was slightly shocked at how accurate her gaze was. Her eyes seemed to completely gaze into his very soul.

"Answer me one thing," asked Mizuki with a slight shake in her voice. "Who have you killed tonight?"

As Jun tried to intervene, Kenji replied, "Your relatives and Akira."

"That's all?" questioned Mizuki with doubt in her voice.

"That's all," confirmed Kenji.

Mizuki took a deep breath and released a very long sigh. She slowly started to shake her head with a slight smile on her face. A smile of disbelief.

"What I don't understand," she said while positioning herself so that her head was laying on Jun's shoulder, " is how you, Jun, can't confess to Suzu, a girl you have had feelings for for many years and yet you can organise an assassination with her and this..... Kenji."

"Wha- what are you talking about?!" exclaimed Jun.

Kenji had a serious gaze on the girl's face but she had closed as eyes, looking very tired.

"Like I told you earlier today, Jun, I might be blind but I'm not deaf."
