When my internal alarm roused me the next morning, I rolled onto my right side to check the clock on the nightstand, squinting. The crimson glow of the blurry numbers processed in my brain, and I sprang up, reaching for my cell. I was definitely seeing right, the clock display said eleven, and there a missed text from a number I didn't recognize.

'Hey, Addison, its Matt. Dropped the car off late last night. Didn't want to call and wake you. Talk to you soon.'

With a wide grin, I saved the number and plopped the phone on my burgundy comforter. I swung my legs around, sinking my toes into the plush cream carpet and stood.

Disheartened that I wasn't able to see or speak to Matt, I stepped over to the window, pulling the curtain to the side to see my car in the driveway when a series of beeps sounded from my phone. I snatched up the phone to see another text. My heart thudded as I hoped it was Matt. I tapped the screen.

'Hey, everything alright? Haven't heard from you. <3 Kylie.'

I kept my reply short. ,Very interesting day yesterday, will call you later. Love you.'

After I took a quick shower, my stomach roared in hunger. I moseyed down to the kitchen and rummaged through the fridge and grabbed two bottles of water, a container of yogurt, an apple and a spoon from the the dish drainer. I went back upstairs and placed everything but the yogurt and spoon on the nightstand before climbing back into my fluffy bed, pulling the covers over me and leaning my back up against the headboard, eating. When I finished, I took a swig from one of the water bottles and placed the empty yogurt container on the nightstand. I sunk deeper into the bed and stared at the ceiling and found that all I could think about was Matt – his voice, his smile, his body.

I felt desire building up inside me and wanted to call him, but fighting the urge, I flipped on the TV from the remote on the pillow next to me to distract me from thinking about Matt. Despite all the sleep I already had, my eyes became heavy.

He was all I saw when I drifted off to sleep again.
