His eyes opened to the strangest feeling, someone was in his house that was uninvited. Patch jumped up throwing on a shirt, he popped open the door. Listening to the noises from downstairs, his mother’s voice held a nervous hint to it as she spoke. His father told her to calm down it was true. A sensation grew up towards the stairs Patch narrowed his eyes. The sensation felt strangely familiar to him. As if it had been a while since he had felt this.
Without making a sound Patch made his way down the stairs towards his father’s voice. Glancing over the house as he went, something was off. The house felt off, distant. Focusing his eyes on the wall, seconds went by and it began to ripple. Waves went down the wall as if it was a dream trying to focus itself. That is when Patch felt the surge of energy invading the home.
Inside his mind, he saw with another set of eyes the events folding. A black mass would come around the corner and try to capture him. Sealing off his mind, Patch waited a second. Soon as he felt the black mass approach, he attacked.
Grabbing the mass by the throat, he smashed the creature down. With three quick gabs of the fist, the creature remained down on the floor. Soon the room was full of occupants including his mother and father.
“Patch,” Richard went towards him, “Stop they are friends.”
A groan came from the hooded creature on the floor then a mumble about get off him. Patch slowly released the creature like human and looked up at his father. Richard smiled, down at him. The hooded figure slowly sat up on his elbows and pulled off the hood revealing an older man with yellowish colored hair.
“I say we have a strong fighter on our hands.”
“Someone better start talking,” Patch ordered.
“Come along son, today is going to be a long day.”
Everyone gathered into the dining room, Patch noticed that there were four extra bodies inside his parents’ home. Each of the vibes coming from each bodies was different. One was very familiar to him. He remembers the wavering of the energy, a homey feeling and sensible. Like his father.
“Patch,” Richard took in a deep breath. “I know what is going on with you. I have known for a long time. This lifetime is different only because we screwed up about a hundred years ago. Our punishment was having our memories erased. “
“What?” If Patch had ever been dumbfounded to the point of not comprehending a word, this was that moment.
“Son, the thing that is going on to you has always been. We are known as Leo of Angel Blood. Our existence is unknown. We do not know whom the first of us was or why we are here on this planet. Some can date us back from the time of the Gods and Demi Gods. No, we are not a Demi God or a God. What we can gather is we are protectors of the supernatural. We are the Hunters of the Hunters.
“Patch, there are three dimension to ever sight your see. On Earth, there are three dimension. An Earth without magic and supernatural and an earth with and an earth that is completely made up of supernatural and magic. We are in the second or the middle dimension. The Earth that supernatural exists yet the human’s do not know. Of course, there are the select few that know however, all is sore to up hold the secret or put to death in protection of the supernatural life.
“We have traveled through time, we are old as old can get, we stay in close nit families. We don’t age, we don’t die, if injured we heal rather quickly.”
“Wait––wait,” Patch threw out his hands, “No, this doesn’t make since. I remember that guy in the woods years ago. I remember changing into this thing. My skin, my mind.”
