Talking Brielle into going out for dinner and then a movie had been much easier than Jenna had expected. A bit of curiosity ran through her when Brielle didn't mention the dinner she would be missing with her family, which told Jenna they simply weren't discussing it for emotional reasons. Jenna had spoke to Nikki, telling her about the plans she and Brielle had made in alternatives, assuring her cousin's sister-in-law that Brielle was fine with the idea.
Leaving later than Zac and the kids, Brielle hadn't said anything about their departure; she had only rushed Jenna out the door not to be late. Stepping out into the last bit of day light that hung over the property, Jenna and Brielle strode arm and arm to the separate garage letting one another go to enter through the small door.
"We're not taking that!" Jenna wrinkled her nose as they entered the garage.
"Zac has his truck and I don't see you with a car here." Brielle answered using the electronic car starter to unlock her van.
"When did you get the loser cruiser?" Jenna mused climbing into the silver Kia Sedona that sat in the garage.
"We got it about three months ago." Brielle answered opening the driver's door.
"Wow, your idea or Zac's?" Jenna couldn't see Zac wanting to give up Delia. She couldn't see Brielle wanting to give up Delia either.
"Mine, Zac said Delia was still functional, but she just wasn't what we needed. He was heartbroken." Brielle answered with a soft chuckle.
Delia had been the black Mustang Brielle drove when she met her husband; she had driven it down from Bangor to Tulsa when Zac asked her to move. It was a great car. It was her twenty fifth birthday present to herself, a little flashy but Brielle felt she was only going to live once. Delia had been named the first time Zac stayed with his girlfriend, he fell in love with the car and said it looked like a "Delia". When Brielle started talking about retiring Delia, around the same time they got married Zac had said Brielle had gone nuts.
He loved the car and he loved the idea that his wife loved the car. Brielle had told him that when she'd saw the sleek black car it had begged her to take it home, Zac could see why. It was sad to see her car go, but Brielle knew it wasn't going to work; they had three children and only room for two in the back seat. The back seat hardly had room for car seats. Most of the time Brielle had drove Zac's truck and he took the car. The minivan was a bit soccer mom, but it served purpose, besides Zac still had his truck and Brielle didn't mind her new car.
As a last attempt to save his beloved Delia, Zac had stated they could get a more family friendly car, but it would never hold the memories or his love the way Delia had. When Brielle jokingly told him they could still have fun with a minivan, Zac had laughed telling her making out in the back of a minivan just didn't have the same appeal as doing it in a sports car.
"Did he cry?" Jenna laughed as Brielle pulled out of the garage.
"Naw, but he was upset to see her go." Brielle replied. "It just didn't make sense to have her. We were talking about having more kids and..." she paused.
"I just wish you'd told me. I would have bought it." Jenna answered, steering away from the children subject.
"Luke just bought you a new Lexus, before you left him." Brielle pointed out.
"Yeah and the car is still in San Diego, but I loved your car." Jenna pouted checking her make up in the mirror of the sun visor.
"No, you wanted it to rub it in to my husband." Brielle smirked.
