so...now we know a bit more.
-----------------
It was unjust, it was absolutely absurd, and quite frankly Zac was through with the daft logic that his ex wife was giving him. He would never be able to bring himself to hate Kate, he could however hate her actions and the stunts she was trying to pull over on him. Hitting the steering wheel of the truck, Zac grunted in frustration. Why had he ruined a perfectly fine afternoon? Why did he have to go over there and start something?
He had to do it because his pride got in the way. He had done it because he'd always been the loose cannon. He had went through with the stupid idea because if he didn't then things would never get settled. Trying to reason with Kate seemed to be one of the hardest tasks Zac had encountered in his life, the woman was stubborn and didn't give in easily. Staring into space, Zac sighed heavily, this was getting to the point of being full on insanity.
Zac had walked into the house level headed, he had no reason to show Kate any upset or animosity. She had been curious as to why he would show up at her house in the middle of the day, completely unannounced. Zac had good reasons to believe Kate would be home alone, void of the one child who lived with her - Zac would always try his damndest to never fight in front of his children, a piece of wisdom he had taken from his parents. Bless his parents, they would always try to keep their arguments out of sight from Zac and his siblings. Zac had always felt that doing such a deed in front of your children would only ruin them and it was rare he let it happen.
Kate was uneasy by his presence, Zac didn't know if that was a blessing or a curse. Allowing him into her house, she took a seat in the living room, Zac followed suit sitting as far away as he could and manage to be in the same room. Sitting in the chair on the opposite side of the room, Zac gently clapped his hands together. He had worked up all of his nerve to come here and now he didn't have a thing to say; or rather he was finding them hard to say.
"Why are you here?" Kate made this easier for him by posing such a question.
"There are some things that need to be out in the open and I feel it needs to be done sooner, rather than later." Zac replied firmly.
"If this is about our children, then I feel as though this discussion is over. It is what it is." Kate retaliated.
"It isn't over, Kate. The discussion of our children will never be over, they are our children. We had them together, it is our responsibility to raise them together even if we're not in the same home. I wish to fuck you could see that." Zac groaned, rubbing his hands over his face.
Was that so hard to understand?
"Raising them together it means we keep them together, we spend equal parts of time with them, we allow them the same advantages and we don't isolate one from the others." Zac continued.
"If this is about me moving, I didn't get that job. I'm not moving to Georgia, you'll be happy to know." Kate all but spit the words at him.
Zac nodded. "You're right, I am happy to hear that. I'm happy, because it means my kids aren't in another damn state. I'm sorry you didn't get the job you wanted, but I am sure there will be others." How cliché of him, Zac didn't care right now.
"Then why are we discussing this?" Kate asked, narrowing her eyes at him as if she was glancing down her finely pointed nose at him.
"Brielle saw Shep today." Zac stated as if it were the most casual thing in the world. "He was with Coach Hutchings."
"Eric, I know." Kate rolled her eyes at the obvious part of what her ex husband had just said. "Did she speak?"
Explaining exactly what Brielle had told him, Zac sat back in the chair, waiting for Kate's reply. Drawing a deep, sharp breath, Kate scoffed. "She knows she isn't allowed to speak. Why would she break a court rule?"
