I guess you'd call this a semi-important filler?

Over the course of the last two weeks Zac had taken his conversation with Avery into full consideration. Changes needed to be made in his life, if he waited to make them then there was a chance it would never happen. It needed to happen, it had to happen and the faster the better. He had started by pulling himself together, contributing around the house. Taking on more responsibility, being a better father and ultimately a better husband.

Zac missed having Shepherd at home, everybody did, but he still managed to see his son on the weekends allowed and for now that was what he would have to take. In the mean time he still had two young children living with him and it had been unfair to them, being cast aside. Zac's first effort was to spend more time with Junia and Abe. Trips to the zoo, the park, and a museum here and there had been enjoyed along with more play time at home.

Where his wife was concerned, Zac was slowly working on it. Making up his lack of being there with Brielle would take more than a trip to visit some animals and a few turns on the slide. The key to making up for lost time with his wife would be to start small, if Zac started off by pulling out the big stops so to speak then Brielle would take it as show, not emotions. Not that Zac had ever lost her, for lack of better words, winning her back was going to take a little more time.

Brielle was in the kitchen, pawing through the cupboards in order to find something for dinner before Natalie dropped the kids off from their day out. She enjoyed cooking, however having Jenna around had spoiled her. Dinner had become Jenna's contribution to the day, with her working late on this particular day it left Brielle in charge of the task. Knowing that she did well as a cook gave her some confidences, after all before Jenna had moved in it wasn't Zac who made their meals, mostly because nobody wanted the house burnt down. Her attention was drawn away from her search when Zac strode in, a bouquet of flowers in his hand.

"Did Jenna get another delivery?" Brielle asked, raising her brow.

It seemed as though every second day a new bouquet of flowers were showing up for Jenna. If Luke wanted to impress his ex, then he would need to try something else and fast. Jenna had loved the flowers at first, now it was boring. Brielle was a little jealous, she would have loved to have a gorgeous arrangement show up with her name on them. Zac used to send her flowers.

"No, these are for you." Zac replied handing his wife the flowers. Accepting the flowers, Brielle thanked him, before turning to grab a vase off of the cupboard and filling it with water. "You got your hair cut." Zac pointed out the obvious, a small smile playing on his lips.

Brielle nodded, brushing her newly designed bangs out of her eyes and blinking. "I figured it was time for a bit of change." It had been her first step in doing something for herself. A hair style was simple and a rather small change, but it was a big step none the less.

Lightly picking up the smooth ends of his wife's hair, Zac let the silky strands fall though his fingers. Her dark hair that had laid half way down her back when he had saw her this morning now sat just below her shoulders. A few subtle layers and the addition of bangs framed her face; Zac liked it.

"It suits you, it looks great." Zac complimented her, his hand resting on the small of her back he leaned in to kiss her cheek. "I should get mine cut, maybe take it back to being short for a while."

Brielle wrinkled her nose, scrunching up her face at her husband. Zac laughed, the look said it all. He didn't mind his hair and for whatever odd reason Brielle loved it. "You look like you're twelve when you have short hair." she commented.

"It'll grow back." Zac teased her with a wink.

"Just don't cut it." Brielle said, turning her head to give him a kiss.
