Chapter 18

Chapter 18: Goodbye Tobi

Third POV
It had been a week since Tobi had been pronounced dead at the hospital. Josh still had not recovered from the tragedy. He hadn't recorded since that day. The other sidemen, were recording but not as much as usual. They felt like they had lost a brother.

Jj, Vik, Josh, Simon, and Harry all gathered at the sidemen house to carpool to the funeral. They were all dressed in black, ready to go, but not ready to say goodbye to Tobi.

Vik and Josh went in Josh's car. Simon, Jj, and Harry went in Simon's car. They left, Simon following Josh to the funeral home.

The boys arrived at the funeral home to see his family and other friends there. They took their seats in the second row, next to Tobi's brother Manny, who looked like he hadn't slept in days. They started the service and tears shed as the man talk about how a great man didn't have to die.

Soon, it came to where people could say something. The sidemen encouraged Josh to go up. He got up, nervously and made it to the podium, next to Tobi's body.

Tobi's, body was in a suit, with his favorite red tie. His hair was groomed and his nails were perfect. His shoes were shined and his pants were ironed.

Josh turned towards the crowd and breathed deeply before speaking.

"Tobi, was..was more than my friend. He was my brother. He gave everyone hope in life. He was the nicest guy anyone could ask for. He was an amazing, um, uh," Josh stopped for a moment to breathe. He was trying hard not to cry but he couldn't help it. "He was an amazing goalie. I wish we weren't saying goodbye to a great guy. Uh yeah. Um." Josh stopped again. He looked at the body again and tears cane out harder. Josh moved from the podium and went back towards his seat, but he didn't sit back down. He walked out of the room and went to the bathroom. He leaned against the bathroom wall and slowly made his way down, until he was sitting down. He let out his cries. His best friend was gone, forever.

As he sat there, he thought about Vik. "I can get through this. I have him. The best boy in the world. I couldn't ask for anything better. He will get me through this and I'll get him through this." He thought.

"Josh?" He heard a call from outside the door. The door opened and he saw Vik and Simon, causing him to smile. He was happy to see him. Vik sat next to him against the wall and held his hand. Simon sat on the other side, laying his head on Josh's shoulder.

"This is what I needed."
