Like I explained earlier, after I closed my eyes, it would be the start of a nightmare. This nightmare was very different from others, this one was more like a foreshadow. Anyway, this is how it went down.

I asked Jack if he could be my date to a dance that was tomorrow. It was a masquerade ball, and I already had my dress, shoes, hair, and mask picked out. I rummaged an outfit for Jack and I made a little white lie to my mother about staying over my friend's house until New Years Day, because Jack would be taking me to the North Pole after the dance. I packed my Bow'n'Arrow, guitar, and just some regular clothes. Flash forward to the dance, Jack and I were having fun (obviously), but then, a shadow was cast upon the room. Barreling threw the window came a black dragon with glowing green eyes. It looked down at me, and slashed my eye. The last thing I saw was Jack hitting the dragon and heard him say "Go away Mori, now is not the time!"

And that's when I woke up. Well, the reason why I woke up was because of a snowball hitting my window. I wonder who could have done that! Jack! I stood up, my feet became cold as I open the window to let him in. "Jack, what are you doing here, at 3:30 in the morning." I exclaimed in a silent voice. "I figured I would fly by and say 'hi' and tell you that your the new Guardian, so..." he began to explain before I cut him off. "What do you mean I'm the new Guardian? Did Manny choose me? Oh my God, this is a lot to take in." I said exhaustedly .

We sat in silence for a while before my mother yelled to me to make breakfast. As I made breakfast, my older brother, William, and my 2 younger brothers, Sebastian and Thomas, walked in and demanded for their teas. Yes, I know what you're thinking, 'how can she deal with 3 brothers?' It's rather simple, you give them what they want and they'll leave you alone.

But, anyway, back to the real story. When I went back to my room, I found myself standing in snow! "Jack, what are you doing? You can't make it snow in here! This will take me FOREVER to clean!" I exclaimed. "Oh relax! I can clean it up ." Jack said, and with a snap of his fingers, the snow was gone!

I didn't know what time it was, so I checked the clock. It's 11:00 in the morning. We sat in silence for a while until Jack spoke. "Hannah, we should start heading to the North Pole by 7:00 tonight." Then, I realized that the dance was tonight. "Jack, we can't leave at that time because I have a dance to go to tonight, even though I don't have a date...," I paused. ",... Wait, you can be my 'date to the dance, and after that we can go to the North Pole! Please Jack, this will be my first time going. This would mean the world to me." I begged and begged. Then silence fell again. "Ok," he began. "..I'll take you to the dance. And besides, since I will be there, everyone is sure to have fun." We laughed for a while.

But now, I have to think of a little white lie to tell my mother so that way I can go with Jack and not have her worried, but then again, why would she worry? She doesn't care about me anymore, she could care less about me. So, I decided to go with the classic, 'remember when you said this' trick. As noon became 1:00, I went downstairs to the study to find my mother. I told myself, "Hannah, say it and be done with it!" I went in and 're-asked her' about the sleepover. "Um, mother. Remember when you said after the dance, I could go with Elizabeth's house until New Years Day?" I asked in a shaky voice. "did I really say that?" she asked. I nodded. "Well, since you never lie, I suppose I can keep that promise." I thanked her and began to walk away. "and Hannah... Have fun tonight." she said and went back to reading a book.

Is my mother feeling ok? My mother has never been nice to me ever since my father's passing. Then came the next problem, a costume for Jack. Luckily, my brothers were playing outside, so I snuck into William's room and rummaged through his clothes. I managed to find this Victorian dark blue suit, a black top hat with blue on it, white gloves, and dark brown buckle shoes. But since it was a masquerade, I found this blue mask with silver around the edges. A perfect outfit. I rushed back to my room, gave him the clothes, and went out. Minutes later, he told me to go in. "That was fast." I thought, until I opened the door, and saw him shirtless. I got wide-eyed and blushed... Anyway, he needed help with the shirt, jacket, and mask. So, I grabbed the shirt, buttoned it, grabbed the jacket, buckled it, and finally grabbed the mask.

As I laid it over his gentle, blue eyes and took a step back to look at the whole outfit, I fell into a moment of 'aw'. He looked just like my father, minus the white hair. There was only one thing missing. "Oh Jack, I also grabbed this. It was my father's staff. I was wondering if you could bring it just for tonight. You don't have to if you don't want to." I told him. "I'll do it, but I'll take my staff as well." I thanked him and have him a hug, but quickly let go. I didn't want it to be awkward. Now, I needed to get ready. "Tell me when your done." he said and closed the door. I would be wearing a red Victorian dress with white lacing, red heels with straps up to my knees, long red gloves, and a red mask with white lacing.

I called Jack back in and he had something in his hand. As he looked up, his expression read 'WOW!'. "what's in your hand?" I asked. It was a necklace with a snowflake on it. "While you were getting ready, I didn't know if you had jewelry or not. So, I made you this." he explained. "I love it. Thanks!" I smiled. He came behind me and put the necklace around my neck. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. By the time we were finished, it was 6:30 p.m. As I was changing, I pack a small bag of clothes, my bow'n'arrow, and my guitar. I grabbed everything, went downstairs, put my coat on, and went to the door.

We had to walk, but I didn't mind. "So, how long does the dance last?" Jack asked. "Midnight, but we can leave earlier if you want." I responded. "And how far away is your school?" he asked. "Like 10 minutes from here, but I know a shortcut." I grabbed his hand and took him on to Adams Ave. We passed a motorcycle dealership and I couldn't help looking into the window. "Hey, Jack. You see that red motorcycle back there? That's a '2007 Harley-Davidson FLHRSE3 Screamin' Eagle Road King'. I've always wanted one." I exclaimed with excitement. "Wow! You really know your stuff on motorcycles. And I never thought a innocent girl like you would be a little speed demon." he laughed.

After that, we headed for the dance and the place was packed. And this would be the of my nightmare becoming real!
