When I woke up, my eye was throbbing. The sun beat through the window on to my face. I sat up and realized I was at the North Pole! "Hey you guys, she's awake!" Jack explained. He was sitting beside me. "Hello Hannah, did you sleep well?"North asked. "Yes thank you, but how did I get here?" I asked. "Well, after you were knocked out, I fought Mori and I flew us here." Jack said. "Oh. Well I'm very sorry about last night Jack. I was hoping that nothing like that would happen, I..." I began to explain before Jack placed his finger on my lips. "It wasn't your fault," he said, "but right now, I think you should go and change out of your dress." "Ofcourse! North, is there a place I can change and wash up?" He pointed, "Go through that door, up the stairs, and it should be on the left. You clothes are already there."
I thanked him and followed his directions. As I walked into the room, I turned to the closest mirror. My eye had a big scar from the top of my eyebrow to my cheekbone. I tried to ignore it, but I just couldn't. This scar will remind me of that horrid night, when my nightmare came to life. Then, I looked down at the necklace Jack gave, and a small grin appeared on my face. I stepped away from the mirror and grabbed my duffle bag filled with my clothing. I decided I would dress in some normal clothes, so I put on a pair of black jeans, a white shirt with a spray painted heart on it, and light brown boots. My hair pulled back in a long pony tail and my nails painted black. I noticed my left middle finger wasn't painted, so I grabbed my nail polish from my bag and painted it. As I looked down at my hand, I looked at my ring. It was my father's before he passed. (I hope you didn't get the wrong idea.)
After that, I went back down stairs to formally meet the Guardians. When I opened the door, nobody was there but there was a note.
"Hannah,
Meet us outside by the little frozen pond! It's time to begin your training!
-Jack :)"
I thought it was funny that he used a texting smiley face. I looked out every window looking for this frozen pons. I mean, we're in Alaska and the whole place is like a frozen pond, right? Surprisingly, there was a small little circle of ice surrounded by some pine trees. So now that I knew where it was, I headed out the door. One problem- I forgot my coat at my house because the buttons broke off when I tumbled down the hill. eh whatever!
I trekked threw the snow to the pond. No one was here, but I saw a pair of skates. I put them on and began to skate around. I yelled out, "Well, I 'm ready." Nothing. Then, a knife was thrown, just missing my neck and hitting the tree. "Well it's about time. North!" I said grabbing the knife and turning around to find him standing two feet away from me. He took both of his swords and I took my knife. We had fought and fought until I knocked out one of his swords and he slip and fell, throwing the other one. He had surrendered.
"One down, four to go. Who's next?" I asked, "Tooth, come hit me with your best shot!" Just then Tooth came flying like the speed of light at me. We both were throwing punches back and forth until I accidentally hit her in the head. She had surrendered.
I skated to the other side of the pond. "Two down, three to go. Hey 'Easter Kangaroo', hop to it!" I hissed. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a boomerang came barreling in front of me. He threw the other one at me, surprisingly I caught it! "Why you little irritating Girl. How many times do I have to say I'm NOT a kangaroo!!" He said. That comment threw him off his guard because I threw the boomerang back at him, hitting his stomach. He surrendered.
"Sandy, you're up." I said. He had kicked a whip to me as he drew his from sand. I felt like Indiana Jones. Whips were cracked left and right. He had this look in his eyes saying 'I'm tired'. He floated off and surrendered.
Jack was the only one left. I didn't have to say anything because he was already in my sight at the other end of the frozen pond. With his staff, he created a gust of wind, blowing snow everywhere. All I could see was the figure of Jack and something sliding across the ice- my bow and arrows. "I thought it only be fair if we both had are weapons of choice." he said, as he made the wind die down. He looked at me and I stared right back. I pulled a narrow out and put it on my bow, pulling it back and aiming it at Jack. He raised his staff and he made it shoot small icicles at me. One of the icicles sliced my arm and it started to bleed.
I dropped my bow and place my had over my wound. Jack and the others rushed over to check on me. "Hannah I'm so sorry. Why do I always hurt you? Ugh!" Jack said. He was the one who looked more worried. "I'm fine guys, really. This is what I call a scratch. Just get me a bandage and I'll be fine!" I said. They helped me up and took off my skates.
When we got back to the workshop, three elves brought over a first-aid kit with a bandage in it. North wrapped it around my arm. We all sat I'm silence until I asked a very important question, "Who's hungry?"
