talks in the slammer♚♚♚
"What do you mean, Lydia?"
The strawberry blonde didn't answer. She saw Thomas and the strangers staring at her with pure confusion on their features. When they turned to each other and whispered back and forth is when she got worried."Scott, we'll talk about it alone. I shouldn't have said anything until I knew we were alone," Lydia whispered back to the worried male beside her. He glanced back at the others and nodded, "good idea."
Thomas stepped forward with his hands crossed over his chest. Suspicion made him crease his brow and he tilted his head as the two turned toward the group. "Did I just hear you say werewolves?" Thomas questioned, one eyebrow raising ever so slightly. He watched as the two shuffled awkwardly on their feet, their body stance made it seem like both of them were close to bolting from the room.
He started toward the door to block it in case they did decide to run, figuring he'd interrogate them while he had time. Before he could even get near it, however, Gally stepped inside with two other gladers close behind him. He looked straight into Thomas' eyes and, with a hint of a smirk, said "let's get these shanks to the slammer for their punishments!"
After a heated argument involving the two biggest hot heads; Gally and Derek, it was clear that Gally was not letting up on the punishment any time soon. Thomas and Derek both were led to the small hole of dirt with the bamboo fence covering it. The shorter boy grimaced, remembering his first day there, which had only been just days ago, but felt like a lifetime. Running away from the box, right after coming out of it, was not a good idea. He had been scared, confused, and felt like he was going to be sick from the ride he had just taken, so he ran. Then he fell. After many laughs, the Gladers had taken him to the very hole and shoved him inside until Alby got him out.
Gally lifted the swinging top with a barely audible grunt.
Jumping into the hole first, Thomas allowed himself to sit down on the packed in dirt, sighing softly and scooting to make room for the other male. Followed by Derek, who leapt inside with a few annoyed grumbles. Once they were both in, Gally closed and locked the top, patting the ground beside his kneeled legs. "Have fun," he chuckled before leaving the pair in the cell, whistling a happy tune, a skip in his step.Derek sat on the ground, scooting away from Thomas as far as he could get in the small surroundings, their shoes still pressed together as they sat uncomfortably close. Thomas leaned his back against the packed dirt behind him, sighing. After a minute of staring at Derek, he slowly shut his eyes and prepared himself for a long night. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep through it, which made the matter that much worse. He hoped Derek slept, maybe then it wouldn't be so awkward.
The sky darkened quickly and soon night fell. Thomas watched as Derek looked up to the sky. The man frowned as if he was realizing something awful. Thomas knew exactly what he was thinking as he looked up along with him. No stars, not one. Just an empty, black abyss. It was quite depressing, really, but Thomas didn't understand why. Maybe before all of this, before he couldn't remember anything, he loved watching the stars. He sighed, looking back at Derek who hadn't moved.
Deciding to keep the werewolf situation quiet for now, he figured why not question this one since they were going to have plenty of time. "How do you guys remember stuff? And what was wrong with that redhead?" Thomas' voice pulled Derek from his thoughts, and the frown only deepened into confusion. Thomas received a questioning stare, but he just shrugged, "never got answers. I would like them now."
