Y/N, was the type of girl to bottle in all her emotions. Not because she didn't want to deal with them, but because she was also the type of girl to not want to burden others with her silly troubles. And, frankly speaking, she was a fairly happy girl. She worked hard to get what she had: the good grades, her preceding reputation of being on the sweetest Slytherin had to offer, the group of friends she had made, and most of all, being the one to finally crack Slytherin bad boy,  Draco Malfoy's, rough exterior. She considered herself to be quite lucky, she had loving parents too, and everything in her life was picture perfect.

Until, one day it wasn't.

It had started with the arrival of the letter, her mother's elegant penmanship across the page, a single sentence encrypted with the weight of the world. I'm divorcing him.  Y/N, in all honesty hadn't been too surprised. Her parents indeed, loved her, but they stopped loving each other a long time ago. She had read the sentence twice, folded the letter over, and tucked it under her books. She hadn't even planned on telling Draco, until he had knocked over her books later on in the day, and had come across the letter.

"Y/N.. love, why didn't you tell me?" He had murmured, his gray eyes scanning her face with concern.

Y/N had furrowed her eyebrows together, Draco was well aware that her parents didn't get along. "It's not like I didn't see it coming, Draco." She mutters, shaking her head and pulling the letter from his grasp. "Incendio." She watch as it lit into flames in the rubbish bin.

"I know that, Y/N. But, you're still allowed to be upset." Draco had whispered, reaching across the table to grip her shaking hand. "I'm not upset, Draco."

Y/N knew it was for the best, her summers were spent listening to her parents argue over practically anything and everything. She was an only child, so she was used to dealing with her issues on her own. And in her defense, she really did think she was fine. But her failing grades, her lack of social responses, and the falter of her beaming smile said otherwise. Draco didn't want to push her, he knew how Y/N was about her issues, but to say that he wasn't worried would be as big as a lie as saying she was fine. He had reminded her more than once, that he was there for her, if she wanted to talk. Each time, she had nodded furiously, shooting him a small smile before changing the topic.

"Miss Y/L/N, this is the 3rd assignment in a row..." Snape drones on as he puts slams the work down onto Y/N's desk.

Y/N blinks at the big red F on the corner of her page, before she looks back up at him. He's still muttering about how abysmal her work is as she rolls her eyes and glances across the room, drowning him out again. She had been trying, she didn't understand why the hell she was doing so poorly. She was so stressed out, every class making her want to rip out her y/h/c locks.

"Y/N! Are you listening to a word I'm saying?" Snape snaps suddenly.

"Erm, yes, sorry Professor. I'll try harder." Y/N mutters, her eyes connected with Draco's wide ones across the room. She could practically hear his worried thoughts across the room. She sighs, tucking the paper into her book and leaning her head onto her arm.

Y/N opens the door to her room with a shove, dropping her back by the door and kicking the door closed with her heel. She lets out a long held in sigh, running her fingers through her hair as she walks around the room, pausing to pick up things here and there. Her roommate was a bit of a slob. She loosens her tie, tossing it and her wand onto her nightstand,  they smack into a picture frame, causing it to fall to the floor and shatter. She groans, turning and leaning down to pick up the shattered pieces of glass, her fingers stop, as they graze the moving picture. One from her last birthday of her and her parents. She squeezes tightly onto the shard of glass in her hand, barely feeling the rough edge cut into her palm, a drop of crimson blood dripping onto the floor. Her father has his hand around her mother, both of them kissing her cheeks, and she loses it. She drops onto the floor slowly, her fingers shaking as the tears roll down her cheeks. Had she cried yet? She feels the numbing of her chest begin to melt away, the raw emotion clogging her throat as she chokes out a sob. Her eyes are blurry, sobs wracking her body as she shakes slightly.

"Y/N? Y/N!" A voice cries, running into the room. She shakes her head, ignoring the voice.

"What happened? Is that blood?" The voice asks, the latter part of the sentence high pitched.

She feels a hand on her shoulder as the person kneels down in front of her. "Love, let go." The voice whispers, another cold hand wrapping around the one holding the glass in her palm.

"Look at me, Y/N. Let me see those pretty eyes." The voice pleads, hand moving to cup her cheek.

She opens her y/e/c eyes, and blinks back tears to see Draco staring down at her. "Oh, sweetheart.." He whispers, titling his head at her. "Let go of the glass, baby. Let me help you." He says, his own fingers curling around the glass in her hand. She watches him as he nods at he encouragingly, and releases her grip, only to throw her arms behind his neck.

He catches her, stumbling slightly. "Oh love, you're okay. It's okay. I'm here now." Draco mutters into her hair, letting a hand rub circles on her back.

Draco stands up, carrying her with him as he walks over to her wardrobe. He rifles through it quickly, finding one of his shirts. "C'mere." He mumbles, pulling away and helping her out of her uniform. She's still crying, sniffles escaping every once in awhile. He pulls the shirt over her head, and she goes to hug him again but he stops her.

"D-draco please." She stutters, her hurt tone causing his heart to shatter.

"It's okay, I'm not going anywhere. Let's get your hand taken of, yeah?" He hushes, kissing her forehead to calm her. She slouches into him, her head on his shoulder, but nonetheless lifts her hand for him. He takes it, gently, pressing kisses to it, before pulling his wand out "Episkey." The cut sews itself, blood drying.

"There we are, all better." He murmurs, leaning down to kiss her head.

 "Stay." She chokes out.

"Of course, my love." He says, moving her to the bed, and tucking her in. He crawls in a second later and she immediately glues herself to him. He doesn't mind, winding a strong arm around her waist, pressing his lips to her forehead as she buries her face into the fabric of his school shirt. He takes his free hand and grabs hers, playing with her fingers.

She's still shaking, ever so slightly against him. "Calm down, darling. You're just fine, okay? I'm right here. " He murmurs, tightening his grip on her.

"You won't leave?" She whispers, her eyes drooping slightly.

 "Not a chance." He responds.
