"Do you not understand what I'm saying to you? Speak!" The male though smaller than me in comparison, intimidates me with his harsh tone of voice. His pelt was of a rusty reddish brown, and his eyes were oddly colored the left eye silver and the right eye  blue.

His eyes caught sight of my collar, this seemed to make him boil with more rage. "Did they send you to hunt us down pet!" His snarl turned into a low growl when the word 'pet' escaped his muzzle. The male wolf  stepped closer,  his lips curled back preparing for another attack this time pinning me on my back. Dirt, dust, and fur filled the air as we rolled over each other, one desperately trying to top the other. In the mists of the fight the scent of blood grazed my nostrils. It was my blood.

"Kent!" A loud voice boomed, "That's enough!" A brown blur sprinted out of the tree line tackling my opponent and plotting itself between me and my attacker.

"Trent?! What are you doing!? She's an outsider! Worse, she's a pet!" Kent jesters to my collar, clearly off put by its appearance. Trent ignores Kent and turns around to face me.

Trent looked quite similar to Kent but instead of  the left eye being silver and the right eye blue, his left eye was blue and his right eye was silver. His pelt color was the same rusty reddish brown like Kent as well.

"What is your name pet?" Trent's voice came out smooth and soft though he also showed a slight disgust in the word 'pet'. "My name?" what is my name? Should I tell him the name Gene gave me? I don't know if I'll be comfortable being called by that name ever again.

"M-my name is-" before I could finish my sentence Trent stepped close and gently nuzzled my neck with his nose. What is he doing!?!??

"Star..." Trent whispers. He read my collar! I felt Trent's hot breath on my neck, his teeth snapped down breaking the last evidence to my former life. Both Kent and I stood there with our jaws dropped while we watched Trent burry the collar in a shallow pit.

Trent turned to face us, his gaze switched from me to Kent then back to me. "What? Did I grow a second head or something?" "Trent! That was the only way to show the chieftain that this thing is a pet!" Trent stared intently into my eyes.

"She doesn't look like any dog I've ever met. She looks like a wolf." Trent turns his attention to the tree line he sprinted out from. "Star, follow me." Trent trotted towards the tree line obviously not caring about Kent's opinions.

"But brother!" Kent whined," She might be leading the hunters right to us!" Trent stopped dead in his tracks.

Hunters...

"If she were to lead the hunters to us, we would have already been shot. Or she would've been barking to lead the human to us." Kent was surprised about his brothers change in mood.

"Let's go" Trent started walking in the same direction as before, only this time he held his head low with his ears up and alert. I walked in between my two captors, Kent on my left and Trent on my right.

The trees around us stood tall offering protection from the slight chilling breeze. I sensed a bit of tension between the two brothers. Trent sighs "I'm sorry for how my brother treated you, we're just a little paranoid."

Kent stops abruptly,"A little paranoid?!!!" He shouts. "Kent" Trent aggressively pinned his ears forward.

"Well excuuuse me, I think at a time like this it's ok to be a little bit paranoid!"
