Diamond1:03 PM
Patrick had just walked in to the house carrying bags with a smile on his face. "Daddy!" Owen hopped up from the couch and ran over. "I missed you."
"I missed you too. Daddy has got something fun for us all to do. Me, you, mommy, and your brothers." Patrick told. He sauntered in to the kitchen and placed the bags on the counter top. Owen and the boys ran in to the kitchen with me trailing after. Patrick emptied the bags and placed everything on the counter. There was cookie dough, cake mixes, sprinkles, and fun-sized chocolate bars.
For a couple hours we spent time mixing cake batter, placing cookie dough onto baking pans, and decorating them with sprinkles and the fun-sized chocolate bars. Once everything was done, we all stared at the finished product. The kids decorated the cookies and cake so it was very messy. "As long as they had fun." I giggled. Patrick grabbed my waist from the side and kissed my temple.
"Can we eat some now?" Owen asked, jumping up and down.
"Just one. We don't want you three to get a sugar rush." Patrick chuckled.
"Yay!" All three of the boys grabbed a cookie and ran back into the living room. I scanned the kitchen, looking at the big mess that was made.
"Hmm, I wonder who's gonna clean this mess." I laughed.
"Don't worry 'bout it babe, I'll handle it. Especially before your mom gets back."
"Okay."
I began to exit the kitchen until Patrick called me back. "Uh, Diamond?"
"Hmm?" I hummed, turning back around to face him.
"Can we talk, please? It's important." He told. I grew a little nervous, but how bad can this talk be? Patrick and I made our way up the stairs and into my room. I sat on the bed, leaving a spot next to me for Patrick. After he sat, he began to speak. "Diamond, I've been doing a lot of thinking. Now that you're back into my life, I've been the happiest I've ever been in a long time to be honest. But, I've been thinking about your life back home in Puerto Rico. How will things work out? I mean, think about it. You will have to encounter Anthony, and that has me deeply worried because he has a gun. If he wasn't afraid to pull that bullshit he did at Owen's birthday party, what else isn't he afraid to do?"
Patrick has brought up something that I haven't thought about at all. How could I be so stupid? How will I leave Puerto Rico to be with Patrick again without running into Anthony, and then what about the kids? Fuck. I can't keep them from him, especially without a court order. That would break their hearts not being able to be with their father. The bond they have with Anthony is so strong, I don't think I have it in me to do that.
I hid my face in my hands and sighed. "You're more than right Patrick. I didn't even think of any of that. I was so focused on being with you again and staying away from Anthony, my mind has just...threw away any other thoughts. I'll think of something, I promise I will." I said, with depression in my voice.
"Diamond, I just want you and the kids to be safe. Anything you need to do, you know I will help you do it. I know this is a lot for you to handle, shit, it's a lot for me too, but we have to do something and do it quick. You leave when? In a few days, and your flight is already scheduled. Anthony probably has something planned already and I don't want neither of us to deal with it. Nor the kids."
Patrick hugged me and kissed my forehead. "I promise I won't let him hurt you."
Once we got back downstairs, Antonio was asleep on the couch and Owen and Christian were still watching TV. I decided to order some pizza for dinner since the kitchen needed to be cleaned. Patrick got started on cleaning up the mess that was made earlier with the baking so my mom wouldn't catch a fit when she came home.
