The bell rang, my signal that it was time. I grabbed my laptop and went to my locker, getting the rest of my things out of it. I checked the time on my phone; two forty-five.
Chucking my phone into my bag pack I closed my locker and ran down the hallways, weaving through the crowd. It was going to be near the park or the nature reserve.
~~
I slowed my pace as I spotted Sans in the distance, in the park, leaning against a tree with his eye sockets closed. Slowly I came up behind him, jumping on him.
"Woah!" He exclaimed as he regained his balance, laughing with me.
I hugged him, still on his back.
"Heya, kid." He gave me a kiss on my head.
I giggled, "Heya, Sans."
"How was school?" He asked, letting me down.
"Same old, same old. History, videos, how to win over the public, etcetera."
"I do not know how you do it, learning all that political stuff. You're in high school. I barely knew how to do math in high school."
"We both know that's not true!" I nudged him, "You worked alongside that mad scientist doctor before Alphys, and now you help Alphys. You have to have at least a little intelligence to manage that, all in the time it would take some people to finish post-secondary." He helped me down off his back.
"You are suck a dork—"
We were interrupted by a loud crack that echoed through the sky.
"They're here," I whispered, putting my backpack down and safely behind a tree.
Then deep laughter echoed through the empty park, an alternate Sans laughter.
"I got this," Sans whispered, his eye lighting up blue in preparation.
"No," I squeezed his hand lightly, "I got this."
I walked out to the middle of the field, sitting down. If this was a Sans, then he would be easy to deal with; most of the time it was emotional problems or troubles with family.
He then floated down, the word "error" floating around him and multiple colours composing his appearance. He was definitely a glitch.
"H-Hello," He called, "I g-g-guess my appearance was e-expected?"
I nodded.
"W-Well, do you know w-w-why I'm here?"
I nodded no, not wanting him to hear the fear that was now taking over me. I didn't know this Sans; Ink hadn't mentioned him.
"G-Good." He grinned wider.
Red strings then appeared out of thin air, shooting towards me. I gasped and rolled to the side, the strings narrowly missing me.
"L-Looks like s-s-she's got some training," The strings suddenly grabbed me from behind, "J-Just not enough."
The alternate Sans was then tossed to the side as Sans stepped in. The strings dragged me with him.
"S-Sans!" The glitch called, "Protecting y-y-your girl, are you?"
"That's the plan." He replied, sending another attack towards the alternate.
I then tensed and curled up into the fetal position, feeling something squeezing my soul. I meekly grabbed at my soul, trying to pull at the many strings which tangled themselves around it.
I heard Sans gasp, "Stop! You're hurting her!"
"N-No. You are."
Through the blur of tears, I saw him lower his hand very slowly.
"N-Now, I am going t-t-to ask a f-favour."
"What?" Sans asked, hostile.
"That y-you hand over the s-s-scientist."
"Alphys?" He questioned, "What do you want with her?"
"That, is n-none of your b-b-business." He crossed his arms like a disobedient child.
