The doctor came back moments later, relief in his eyes.

"She's back. But she doesn't remember me..."

"She was in the Underground for a majority of her life, she may not remember anything from the surface." I gave him a sympathetic look.

"I'm sure once everything is healed, once she gets more blood, that she'll remember. She has to remember her own father, right?"

I shook my head no, "No, not everyone does have to remember their own family. I can't, from the fall. I just see a strange blurry image of my parents and someone else... possibly a brother, or sister or really close friend. But with everything that's been going on, even that image as gotten even blurrier."

"Oh, I'm sorry." His expression softened.

"It's alright," I gave him a weak smile, "I have a family. Even though they aren't my birth family, they're still my family."

He nodded, still a soft expression.

"Anyways, would we be able to, um, get this fixed up?" I gestured to my leg.

He nodded and rushed over, "Yes, yes, of course. Very sorry about that."
