He set the troll on the counter once he got to his empty house. It was s shaking as he unwrapped the scarf. He emptied the sink and started filling it with water, which freaked the troll out.
"Hey hey hey." He quickly picked up the troll, who had fallen off the counter. "It's okay. It wwont hurt you." The way it looked at the water, eyes so horribly filled with fear, made Eridan wonder what happened to it. He gently pulled the dirty black shirt off the troll and nearly dropped it when he saw what was underneath. Burn marks lined it's prominent rib cage as it's ice cold fur barely moved when it tried to breath.
He sighed. "Wwhat happened to you..." He murmured as he gently set the pet into the sink. It trembled as the warm water lapped at it's fur. Eridan rolled his sleeves up and poured some hand soap on a washcloth before starting to rub gentle circles on the troll's fur, cleaning the dirt from him carefully. It tried pushing away at first but as the water warmed it, it calmed down and let itself be washed. Eridan had to run clean water several times before the troll was clean. It seemed content with this and started shivering once it was pulled out of the water. He quickly started drying it off and watched as it slowly slid off the counter, letting out a small squeak as it hit the ground. It looked around unsurely before looking at the clock. It was 5:32. It quickly made its way to the table and crawled up onto a chair.
Eridan watched. "You hungry?"
It blinked. "But... I don't get dinner if I'm late..." it had a horribly raspy voice.
He frowned disapprovingly. "Thats not howw things wwork here."
It frowned, clearly not understanding.
"Wwhat do you wwant to eat?"
It rubbed the table top with his hands. "... do you have honey thtickth?"
"Yeah."
It's face lit up and Eridan got it the pot of honey sticks. It chewed the top off with its teeth and sucked the honey out happily.
He sat down. "Do you havve a name?"
It paused. "... yeah."
"Can you tell me?"
"... Tholluk'th."
Eridan frowned. "Tholluk'th?"
It fidgeted in distress. "No I jutht..."
"Oh. You havve a lisp.
It nodded.
"So... Sollux?"
It nodded again.
"That's cool. I'm Eridan."
It sucked on its honey stick.
"Um... sorry to be so insensitivve but, you slid a little sick so I can't tell if you're a boy or a girl."
"I'm a boy."
He nodded slowly and watched as he opened a second honey stick. He pulled out his laptop and started working on his homework.

FanfictionSo I've had this story in the works for a while and I just reached a point where I thought it was safe to upload it. I have it written down though so it's still going to take a while to get the parts updated. I also haven't finished it and (spoiler)...
