Eridan sat at his laptop with Sollux curled up in his lap, a bandage around his tail.
"It says here you'll be able to control that powwer evventually."
Sollux looked up. "I didn't mean to hurt him..."
"I knoww you didn't Sol." He kissed his head softly. Sollux purred and nuzzled him.
"Eri, dad vwants to talk to ya!" Cronus called from downstairs. Eridan picked Sollux up and made his way to the kitchen. Sollux hid his face in the crook of Eridan's arm when light made his head pound.
"Eri, Cro tells me your pet attacked him." His dad was still dressed in his business suit and made Eridan swallow nervously.
"I sent Cronus to pick him up from Kar's house since wwe wwent to coffee and movvies and dinner, and Cronus caught his tail in the door. It wwas an act of self defense."
He turned to Cronus, who glared at Sollux.
"Dad, he can't be in danger anymore. Can vwe jus' get rid'a him?"
"Wwell I suppose wwe could-"
"No!" Eridan shouted.
They looked over.
Eridan looked down. "I-I think his old owwners are still lookin' for him... he got attacked at the park last month..."
Sollux whined and curled up tighter in Eridan's arms.
"... wwell then wwe'll havve ta keep 'im."Some years later Cronus and Eridan were watching TV, waiting for their dad to get home with dinner.
"Hey Eri?"
"Hm?"
Cronus looked at him. "I jus' vwanted to apologize for treatin' your pet the way I did."
As the years had progressed and Cronus had grown up, he'd started treating Sollux with some respect. Although Sollux still held a grudge, they had started getting along. Eridan had graduated college with a bachelors degree in photography, Cronus acting. They hadn't moved out of the house yet, and since their dad wasn't home a lot so it didn't seem like they lived with him anyway. When Eridan had turned 21, Sollux had gone into another molt and hadn't come out for almost a year.
"It's okay Croww."
"Do ya knowv when he'll be out?"
"No..."
There was an abrupt crash from upstairs and Eridan bolted to his room.
Sollux stood up, stark naked and skin a pale gray, fur gone. He looked human, save for his horns, red and blue eyes and tinted skin. Eridan couldn't deny it- he was pretty hot.
"Sol get some clothes on."
Sollux grumbled and obeyed, Eridan watching in silence.

أدب الهواةSo I've had this story in the works for a while and I just reached a point where I thought it was safe to upload it. I have it written down though so it's still going to take a while to get the parts updated. I also haven't finished it and (spoiler)...
