Eridan frowned when he came home and Sollux wasn't there to greet him. He searched the entire house, calling his name frantically, but he wasn't there.
He poked his head into his room and blinked at seeing his laptop on the ground. He picked it up and opened it. His stomach dropped at the message pulled up on the screen.
He quickly made his way down the street to the park. "Sol? Sol wwhere are you? Sollux?!"
There was a tiny squeak from a nearby bush and he peered the branches to see a beaten and terrified Sollux.
Eridan gently wiped a cut off from above Sollux's eye. The poor pet was sore from
Being kicked and thrown around.
"Sol wwhy'd you go?"
"I... I thought m-maybe I could tell them... t-to not bother you..."
Eridan bandaged him gently. "I can take care of myself Sol..."
Sollux wrapped his small, frail arms weakly around Eridan's neck. "M'2orry..."
"It's okay. I'm not mad. You just scared me."
Sollux sniffed and Eridan cradled him. He kissed his head softly. The troll reached for Eridan's hand and gently wrapped his semi-aposable fingers around Eridan's.
Eridan couldn't help but smile.
