Eridan sat with Cronus in the waiting room of the vet, waiting for an update on how the surgery went. Eridan had blown through half a box of tissues.
The door ran and a girl with blonde hair sprinkled with blue highlights walked in, smirking.
"Heeeeeeeey Eriderp," she taunted, walking in front of the Amporas. Cronus glared at her.
"Wwhat do you wwant Vvrisk...." Eridan muttered.
"Oh I just wanted to check in on your pet. He got........ shot, right? Such a shame, really. He was a good person."
Eridan growled. "Howw wwould you knoww."
"Talked to him just before the 'incident'. You know, it could have take someone with no shooting skills to kill him. Not that a professional didn't shoot him." She looked at her nails.
Eridan's eyes widened and he lunged at Vriska, knocking her to the floor.
"You idiot! Wwhy are you such a jerk to me?! My best friend could be in their dyin' and its all your fault!"
Eridan' hand't realized he was pushing her until Cronus puled him off. Eridan turned and hid his face in Cronus's chest, sobbing.
Police showed up and Cronus told them what happened. Vriska was taken away and Cronus gently comforted his hysterical younger brother.
A week passed and a trial was scheduled for Vriska. Eridan hadn't slept well since the confrontation, constantly waking up to vivid nightmares about her and Sollux.
Eridan was poking at a cold plate of turkey and green beans when the phone rang. Cronus answered it and listened for a few minutes before placing it down. "Come on Eri."
"Wwhere are wwe goin'?" Eridan happily abandoned his lunch to follow Cronus.
"You'll see."
They arrived at the vet. Eridan gripped Cronus's hand, excited yet afraid.
The doctor greeted them cheerfully.
I have good news- the surgery was successful and he's healing well. WE decided that he could be sent home for the rest of his rehabilitation."
Eridan's face lit up and Cronus grinned.
Two nurses helped Sollux out into the hallway and Eirdan hugged him.
"Thee? I told you I'd fight," Sollux murmured, hugging him back.
