I woke up to the vibration of my alarm. I rubbed my eyes groggily, it was Friday. Shit! It was Friday and I needed to go house hunting. Since I was 18 and it was legal for me to move out I decided that I'd give my mum a break and move out as soon as possible. My names Daisy. I'm 18 and I have a 4 year old little brother called Jack. He's right naughty little shit and we argue a lot, sometimes we get on but very rarely.

I stretched in bed and closed my eyes for a few minutes before getting up and heading to the bathroom. I locked the door and stared into the mirror checking my face for recent spots and rubbing the blackness from under my eyes. I washed my face and brushed my teeth before returning to my bedroom. Since my best friend Amanda turned 18 last Wednesday it meant she could legally move out of her care home.

Amanda has been in a care home since she was 6. Her mum died of a disease when she was 4 and 2 years later her dad was knocked off his motorbike and died a week later in hospital. Amanda wasn't close to any of her other family so no one cared for her which left her to her only option a care home.

We both agreed we wanted an apartment together because it would mean we had to split rent. we've viewed 13 apartments and at the end Amanda ended up turning them all down. She was really picky about who we were living with but I didn't care unless they were normal and not a serial killer.

I walked over to my wardrobe before choosing to wear skinny black jeans, a grey and white stripy crop top and white converse, I also took my black, grey studded bag. I brushed my hair leaving it natural and straight. I applied some mascara and drawn over my eyebrows slightly with light brown eyebrow pencil. I added a touch of concealer and I was ready.

I walked down the stairs to find my mum and jack watching what looked like in the night garden.

"I'm going to view some apartments with Amanda again mum, ill call you if anything happens, Love you"

I headed to the door as jack said "bye Daisy"

I waved to him before closing the door behind me. I took the car keys out of my bag and unlocked the door to my red fiat 500. I sat there and took my phone out my bag. I unlocked it and called Amanda, she picked up after 5 rings:

"Hey Amanda, you ready?"

"Erm, yeah"

"I'll drive yours now, see you soon, bye"

"Bye"

I started the car and made my way to Amanda's

|| IN STARBUCKS ||

We decided to go Starbucks before we started because we were both hungry.

"I've only saw 1 apartment to let" Amanda said biting into her sandwich.

"hmm" I replied sipping my latte.

A woman who was a member of the staff, she was pretty young about in her 20s with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes approached us,

"I couldn't help but over hear that you guys were looking for an apartment"

we both nodded as she continued,

"There's a flyer on the window over there saying that there's a space for 2 people in an apartment with four boys" she pointed to it.

We thanked her and finished our food before heading to the window. We both read it in our heads. It said:

APARTMENT TO LET!

WE LOOKING FOR 2 PEOPLE (BETTER IF GIRLS) TO MOVE IN WITH US FOR £100 A MONTH EACH! ONLY 4 BOYS LIVE HERE. WERE NORMAL.

I looked over at Amanda as her eyes widened, she looked at me and said,

"this...is perfect"

I smiled as we got back in my car.

"Room 4B, beddingley flats, Room 4B, beddingley flats" Amanda kept repeating in her head.

"Why don't we just type it into my satnav?" I said talking sense.

She laughed and said,

"Oh yeah, that's seems easier"

|| OUTSIDE BEDDINGLEY FLATS ||

We stood staring at the tall building then Amanda turned to me,

"I'm really nervous"

"Come on" I said dragging her up the steps.

We pushed open the glass doors and entered the fresh smelling flats. We decided to take the lift because it was on the 4th floor and walking up 4 flights of stairs is effort and because we were lazy.

-DING-

The lift doors opened and we stepped out into a pretty long corridor. It smelt of fresh flowers and a scent of strawberries. We walked along the corridor glancing at every door until we were stood out room 4b.

"I'm nervous now!" I said glancing at Amanda.

She nodded in agreement with me before I got the courage and lifted my fist up knocking 4 times. We breathed heavily as we heard the locks being, well undone. The door swung open and mine and Amanda's mouthed dropped open.
