I woke up to the sound of an alarm. "Wake up Annabelle!" I heard Lilly shout. I jumped out of the bed not bothering to grab my robe or put on shoes and ran out the door. I heard Alyssa and Lilly follow me down the stairs. I stopped at the sight of a selected girl lying on the floor unconscious. "Guard!" I shouted. In ran a man with black hair and green yes. He looked about age. He saw the girl lying on the floor and picked her up. "Follow me!" He shouted. We followed him to a fire place. He pressed a camouflaged panel and the fire place opened revealing stairs leading underground. "The royal family is in there," the guard informed us. We nodded and walked in. He followed us. "Thank god!" I heard Luke shout as we reached the bottom. He ran up to me and kissed my fore head. "Hi," I said. "Are you ok not hurt?" He asked looking at me. I giggled and shock my head. Suddenly there was a explosion. I screamed and Luke gripped me. I smiled. "Your ok," Luke whispered. Then a sudden worry went over me. "Where's my Nan?" I whispered/asked. I saw Luke smile. "She's safe," he whispered. "Thank you," I said pulling away from him. I looked over to America and she open her arms. I ran into them. "Your like a daughter to me," she whispered in my ear. I felt someone's arms go around us. "Your like a daughter to me too," Maxon whispered. Maxon pulled away. "America who's been sent home?" I asked sitting down on a cot. "Well...ten girls have been sent home," America said joining me on the cot. "Who are they?" I asked. America gave me a puzzled look. "I didn't meet all the selected," I said.
"Ok they gels were, Geogette Davis, Mara Scott, Pearl Patterson, Quibilah Carpenter, Tiffany Fletcher, Violet Pierce, Wilhelmina Freeman, Xylona Tucker, Zola Park and Jennifer Baldwin," she told me. I never knew any of those girls. "Annabelle you should really put your robe on next time," she said. I giggled. I was only wearing blue shorts and a t-shirt. "What's wrong with this?" I asked. She shook her head. "Nothing it's just my son can't take his eyes off you," she said. I blushed. I looked over my shoulder and saw Luke leaning against a wall talking to Alyssa. He glanced over at me and winked. I blushed again! "I think you like him," I heard a voice say behind me. I turned my head to see a girl with red hair and gold eyes. "Joy Moore," she said. I smiled. "Annabelle Hollis," I said.
"I know," she said. "What's it like being the princes favourite?" She asked. "Me...his favourite," I said. "If I'm his favourite then he must be blind," I said. "Annabelle," I heard Maxon's voice call. I looked over at him and he motioned me to go to him. Please tell me he didn't here that. "Yes," I said when I reached him. "Is it your birthday on the 24th of May?" He asked. I nodded. "Well I know it's only the 27th of March but we're thinking of throwing you a birthday party," he said. "Lilly's birthday isn't far away from mine can we have a birthday party for the both of us?" I asked.
"When's her birthday?" He asked.
"The 2nd of June," I replied.
"That's ok...we'll have the party on the...28th of May then there is four days between the two of your birthdays," Maxon said. I nodded agreeing. "Well go tell her," America said. I smoked and walked over to Lilly who was writing in her notebook. "Lilly...Maxon and America are going to throw us a birthday party on the 28th of May," I whispered in her ear. She jumped up from her cot and ran over to Maxon. "Thank you!" She shouted. I rolled my eyes and flopped down on the cot next to Lilly's. "I was gonna lie there," I heard Alyssa moan. "Go get your own," I said.
I'm gonna have a birthday party with my best friend. This year couldn't get any better.
