ch. 7

> Ari's POV <
i let the whole crew come inside.

they all had their stuff, and waited for me to tell them where to place everything.

i started off, "ok so jade you can sleep in my room with me-"

kevin coughed. it was obvious that he was giving me a signal.

"fine. you can sleep in her room." jade said as she crossed her arms. i gave her the 'are you sure?' look. she nodded.

"you know what? let's just all figure this out later." i said.

everyone nodded in agreement. we decided to watch horror movies. i ordered 2 boxes of pizza and once they arrived, i placed them on the counter in the kitchen. then, i grabbed two large coke bottles out of my fridge.

as i set up the plates and cups, i heard the sound of rain pouring outside. thunder roared through the sky as lightening cut through the display of gray clouds.

a storm.

and a horror movie.

nice.

i continued to look out the window that was above the sink. i then turned around and-

"fUCK," i yelled, "you guys scared the crap outta me. thanks." the crew just stood there, holding in their laughs.

"we came for the pizza." Devin said, as they all scrambled towards the counter and grab plates. i rolled my eyes playfully and grabbed a plate for myself. we all poured ourselves a cup of soda.

i made my way to the table and sat next to kev. jade was sitting next to jailene and devin. she took a bite of her pizza then looked up at me and kevin.

she lowkey looked mad. what was her problem?

i ignored it and continued to eat.

kev kept gulping down his drink. it was full a few seconds ago but now looked empty. i tried to peek into his cup but he stopped me.

"no one can know what's in the cup." he told me.

"it's obviously coke." i said laughing.

he then hid the coke bottle that was sitting in front of him, under the table.

we laughed together. ugh, his smile. it's so contagious.

"let's go watch the movie now." jade said with a little bit of attitude. she instantly got up and threw her plate and cup away.

as she walked into the living room, we all looked at each other with suspicion on our faces. i shrugged as i threw my empty cup and plate away, then followed her into the living room. everyone else did the same.

*a few minutes later*

the movie started, and i was sitting on the love couch, next to kev.

he put his arm around my neck as i scoot in closer to him. i leaned my head onto his shoulder, so he placed his head softly on mine. jade still kept glancing at us.

i looked back at her, confused.

she glared at me, got up from the couch that was across from us, and went upstairs.

"i'll be right back." i whispered to kev.

he nodded, as i followed jade upstairs.

she made her way into the guest room, so did i.

i watched as she picked up all her bags.

"jade... what are you doing?" i asked, sadly. "i'm leaving." she replied straight forward, no emotion at all.

"why?" i asked her another question. she swung one of her bags around her shoulder and held the other in her free hand. she pushed her way past me and jogged downstairs.

i followed her as she walked to the front door.

"um, can you open the door?" she asked as if i was her assistant. i slightly nodded and opened it.

it was pouring so hard.

"are you sure you wanna go now?"

jade nodded, "i just don't wanna be here."

i realized the movie was paused. the boys, jailene, and emily had their heads and attention turned to jade and i.

"...why do you wanna leave so badly?" i asked her.

she rolled her eyes and laughed, "because i don't care."

"what do you mean?" i didn't know what she was talking about.

"i said, i don't care." she repeated.

"w-what?" a tear rolled down my eye.

"wow. ok. lemme explain. ari, i don't care about you. i never have. i became your 'best friend' just to help Zac out with his plan," she quoted her fingers when she said best friend, "he wanted you back just to hurt you again. so, i agreed to help."

i felt tears flowing down my cheeks.

jade turned and was about to leave, but she stopped then turned back around to face me.

"i give up on the plan now. but just letting you know, remember when you caught Zac cheating on you? well, that girl wasn't Nikki, it was me," she laughed then continued, "so yes ari. i don't give a fuck about you. goodbye." she put her hoodie on her head, and walked away as if nothing happened.

i closed the door and slowly turned around to face the crew.

i fell to my knees and broke down.

i felt a bunch of arms wrap around me.

"baby, were all here for you." i heard kevin's voice say.

i took my hands off of my face, and looked up to see them all trying to comfort me.
