ch. 24

> Ari's POV <
we walked into the little building together, as the sound of party music filled the air and people skating along the floor brought attention to my eyes.

i was excited to try it out.

"let's go get our shoes," kev said, leading me over to a counter where an employee sat.

"how may i help you?" she asked; her big, gold, hoop earrings dangled.

"uh yeah, could we get roller blades?" kevin asked nicely.

she nodded, "yes, right around the counter." she pointed to the right as kev followed the directions, bringing me over.

we tried on a couple shoes until we found the ones that fit us correctly. once that was done, kevin and i took our time, and skated over to the rink.

i held his hand tightly as we made it out there.

he pulled me out into a more open area, and started to skate around me. i watched as he went in circles, surrounding me.

"come on ma," he said, "it's fun."

i did what was told and started to skate; away from him actually. i skated around the perimeters of the oval shaped rink, lights of many different colors tinted the white floors.

i slowed down a little, and turned to face kev.

and surely, he started to chase after me.

i immediately continued to skate, as fast as i could. i laughed at the sound of him laughing behind me. i moved right and left, around, and in front of many people. i instantly started to regret speeding up when i tripped and fell.

kevin came up to me as quickly as he could.

"shawty, are you ok?" he said helping me up.

i got up, wiping my behind from the filthy floors, and started to laugh, "yeah, i'm fine."

he smiled at me and kissed my forehead, grabbing my hand once again, "let's go get something to eat."

he pulled me out of the skating rink and led me towards a different counter which had a menu on it. there were multiple employees working behind it.

"hello, how may i help you both?" the man asked.

"whatchu wanna eat?" he whispered to me.

"um, we'll get a plate of buffalo wings and a side sauce," i said to the man with a smile on my face. he smiled back and nodded his head, then went back to prepare our order.

kev and i waited on the side.

"so... how are you liking it so far?" he asked.

"this is really fun," i smiled, "what are we doing after?"

he smiled back and threw his arms around me. i wrapped my arms around his waist.

"that's a surprise," he whispered into my ear.

his warm breath against my cheek sent chills down my spine. he kissed my cheek, and continued to kiss me, as his lips moved lower to my neck. his hands traced the curves of my body until they reached my waist, where he tightened his grip.

"kev," i whispered with my eyes shut.

he mumbled, something unclear, but he continued to kiss and suck on my neck.

"w-we can't do this here," i said to him, with a giggle.

he slowly pulled away and smirked at me, "just wait till we get home babygirl."

i playfully rolled my eyes and went back towards the counter. i came just in time, as the employee came up and gave me the food. kevin jogged up to me and grabbed the food, while handing the man some cash, "keep the change," he said.

i followed kevin over to a table, where we sat down and started to eat, and talked a lot about many random things.

after walking around town and spending time at the mall for a while, we went back into kev's car.

it was about 5:15 PM.

he was driving to an unknown destination, but i was down.

as long as i was with him.

he continued to drive for about another 10 minutes, until he stopped the car. he hopped out and so did i, realizing that he had brought me to a hidden beach side.

i smiled at the view and ran over to him.

he threw his arm around me as we quickly walked over to the sandy area, and got a little close to the water.

the waves crawled onto the shore, and the sounds were calming. the sun was a beautiful orange color and the ocean waters had been tinted by it.

"it's so beautiful," i said while kevin and i walked along the shore.

"i agree," he replied, "but not as beautiful as you."

i blushed at his cute, silly comment.

we continued to walk, watching the sun go down slowly.

as the sky grew darker by the minute, i felt kevin's warm hand pull mine back. he pulled my body close to his and connected his lips onto mine. our lips moved in sync, as a slight breeze blew onto my hair. his free hand tucked the hair that had covered my face, behind my ear, and then moved to cup my cheek.

we slowly pulled away.

i felt heat rise to my cheeks as he wrapped his arms around me, giving me a tight hug.

"that was sweet," i said looking down at my sandy shoes.

"yeah, it was." he smiled at me and continued, "we have one more destination." he gladly grabbed my hand.

we walked back to his car and settled ourselves.

as he started to drive, all i could think about was his lips.

the sunset.

the crashing waves.

the butterflies in my stomach.

that feeling.

it was incredible.
