"Elizabeth, darling come home quickly, I have some great news to tell you and your brother and sister" My mum Rosie said down the phone to me "yes mum I'll be home in about five minutes" I replied to her, I ended the call and put my iPhone 6 back in the pocket of my large superdry coat. I live about 20 minutes away from my school when walking, although I penny board to school, which takes about 10 minutes. Yes, I do penny boarding, and I love every second of it, I take my penny board everywhere with me. It is a hot pink colour, with green wheels, it stands out a lot which is why I love it so dearly.

I soon arrived home, I pulled my keys out of the front pocket of my black rucksack and pushed the key into the door, I turned it, waited to hear the click of unlocking the door, and pushed it open, pulling my key out whilst doing so, I pushed the door closed and walked into my bright red kitchen, I placed my keys and bag down onto my small wooden dinner table and pulled my coat off, revealing my navy school blazer. I grabbed my phone and a green apple and strolled into the living room, taking a large bite out of the fruit. I sat on the sofa next to where my mum was sat waiting patiently for my siblings to arrive. It was only a matter of minutes before Josh and Brooke arrived through the door. Josh is the youngest in my family, he is 12 years old, Brooke is the oldest sibling, she's 18 and I'm the middle child at the age of 16. Brooke and Josh also gently placed their things down on the dinner table and walked into the living room, sitting on either side of me. "So what's up then mum, what's the good news?" Brooke asked intrigued, my mum looked quite nervous about telling us, she was fiddling with her short strands of blonde curly hair, she does that whenever she is nervous. Josh on the other hand seemed very excited to find out the good news, he was bouncing up and down in his seat in excitement. "Well, as you know I haven't had many books published, and I have been working on a new novel, you know the one about the two people who fall in love" everyone nodded "yes well anyways I have been talking to a publisher recently and they've asked to work with me to publish the book" we all looked at each other in silence until Brooke soon spoke up "that's great mum!" She said smiling widely, she moved forward and hugged mum, who still looked very nervous. "Is that all you wanted to tell us? That's boring!" Josh complained, I hit him lightly on the arm "shut up J that's rude" I blurted out to him, "ow" he complained rubbing his arm, I rolled my eyes and turned back to my mum. "No Josh, actually that's not all" my mum said, we all listened even closer to her "well the publishing company is in New Jersey" she said, looking up at us finally smiling, although I now wasn't "as in New Jersey in America?" I said, hoping it's not true "yes New Jersey in America, and if I take the offer we will have to move there" my mum said, clapping her hands together in excitement, "sweet! I would love to go to America! You should totally take the offer mum" Brooke said, also excited, I sighed and Josh didn't seem to happy either "wait so does that mean I won't see my friends again?" He said sadly "I'm afraid so, but we can come back and visit" mum said smiling weakly to Josh, he nodded "I'll go tell them" he said slowly standing up and glumly walking out the room, Brooke had now also left the room in excitement, I looked at mum "are you okay sweetie?" She asked me, placing her hand gently on my leg, I sighed "are you really going to take the offer?" I asked her, not able to look her in the eyes "yes darling I think I will, but you can still speak to all your group of friends and I'm sure you'll make new friends your a nice girl" she said, stroking my hair out of my face, I nodded, trying to hold back my tears, I stood up and walked out the room, I pulled my phone out of my coat pocket in the dinning room and walked up the stairs to my bedroom, I laid back on my bed and let the tears stream down my face as I started to text my groupchat
Beth: hey guys I have the worst news😭😭
Amelia: what's up b? Xox
Olivia: Tell us now xxxx
Vicky: What's happened xxoxox
Zoe: oh no what's wrong? Xx

Amy: uh oh when you say there's bad news it's obviously bad! Xxx
