How to train a parrot

I woke up the next day feeling really down about myself, I couldn't forget about the argument last night with the girls, I know it's a silly thing to be upset about but they were my 'best friends' for years and now I know how they really felt about me.
I walked into the bathroom and managed to have a shower before Brooke did, thank god now I won't be having a cold shower. I showered and got changed into black skinny ripped jeans, a grey t-shirt that said wifi in the centre of it and a denim jacket. I brushed my hair and tied it up in a high ponytail and sat at my desk to do my makeup, I put on concealer, foundation, blusher, highlighter, eyeshadow,eyeliner, mascara and a lip balm. I stood up and stared at myself in my full length mirror "I look like I haven't slept for days" I said to myself sighing. I grabbed my phone from my bedside table and checked through all my social medias unfollowing all my old friends except Amy on them. I sat down at the table to see Brooke wasn't downstairs, only my parents. "Morning mum and dad" I said. They both turned and looked at me "Morning sweetheart" my mum said with a huge smile "morning Beth, why are you up so early?" Dad said kissing me on the forehead. I looked at them confused "it's the usual time isn't it?" I asked, they both shook their heads, I checked the time on my phone 5:45am and I didn't have to be up until 6:30 wow. I had a lot of time to pass so I decided to start training the parrots. I put food in both their bowls and then held some mealworms in my hand, it was gross but at least it'll train them. I walked over to Papi first holding the mealworm in the fingertips of one hand and slowly using my other to stroke him, I gave him the worm first and as he was eating it I started gently stroking him on the back, he had no reaction, I did it again, I fed him a mealworm whilst stroking him on the back and still no reaction. Brilliant. I then walked over to him and tried stroking him, he squawked. If I distract him with something I can stroke him but if I don't have anything I can't, we'll have to work on that. I then tried the same thing with cutie, I held a mealworms with my fingertips and fed it to her, I tried stroking her and she jerked her body away from me, she didn't like that, but I'll keep trying anyway. I kept trying for the rest of the morning and I could now stroke both of them if they were distracted. They're partly tame now. I had 10 minutes before leaving to go to school so I washed my hands with about 10 squirts of soap and sat at the table to eat my breakfast which was cereal, Josh and Brooke had eaten together but I waited until now so I could train the parrots. I finished my cereal and walked upstairs to grab my penny board, I grabbed my school bag from the doorstep and placed it on the table, I started packing it making sure I had everything, I now had a key so I could get in the house on my own. Finally. As I was about to open the door to leave I heard a knock, I opened the door to see two of my favourite people, Ethan and Grayson. "Hey" I cried throwing my arms around both boys and kissing Grayson on the cheek, making him go insanely red, I was so happy to see them after the crappy day I had the day before. They were both very surprised by the hello I gave them but they just brushed it off. "What are you two doing here" I asked the boys, we started to walk to school, I was walking in the middle of them holding hands with Grayson and linking arms with Ethan. They told me that since we live 30 seconds away from each other we may as well walk to school together. Which isn't a bad idea.

School once again flew by as I had my best friends distract me all day. I'm so glad mum decided to take the offer of writing the novel and moving to America, it's the best decision we could've ever made!
