The flashback

I knocked on the door to my house hoping someone would be home to answer the door. But nobody did. I knocked again, louder this time, still no answer, I decided to phone my mum, I pulled my phone out my back pocket and scrolled through my contacts searching for my mums name. I finally found it and phoned her, she answered almost straight away "hello darling" she said sounding very happy "Hi mum, where are you?" I asked, she was silent for a second but then replied saying "I'm at the shopping mall, there's a new game out that Josh wants and since he hasn't been happy here recently I thought I would buy it for him as a treat. Didn't you see the note?"
"No, I'm locked out the house" I said angrily, my mum said nothing "mum? Are you there?" I asked "oh yes sorry, well we're not going to be home in a while, either sit outside the house or go to a friends house or something" she said, I sighed "fine" I muttered, and with that I ended the call. I didn't know what to do or where to go. Casey's house is to far away and I don't know where Ella lives. A thought soon clicked. Maybe I should go to the twins house and that's what I decided to do, I saw which house they went in, my house is number 15 and there's is number 20. I grabbed my penny board and slipped my phone back into my pocket and walked down my street until I arrived at the Dolan twins door. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door why am I so nervous I thought just as an older women opened the door. She looked similar to my mums age. "Oh hello" she said with a huge smile "Hi, is Ethan and Grayson in?" I asked nervously "they are" she said "what's your name?" She asked "Elizabeth" I said she looked at me slightly confused "do you get called Beth?" She asked and I nodded "ah yes I know who you are, the boys talk about you all the time, I thought it was you because of your accent but thought I should ask anyway" she said with a wide smile, I smiled back awkwardly and stood at the door "come in, come in" she said, I walked in and closed the door behind me, to be polite I then took my shoes off. "They're bedrooms are the first two upstairs" she said, still smiling "thank you" I replied, I then turned and walked up the stairs.

I saw the first door and knocked on it "come in" I heard a voice shout, it was Ethan, I pushed the door open "hey" I said walking into the room "oh hey" Ethan said smiling "what are you doing here?" He asked standing up from his bed "well..." I said rubbing the back of my neck in embarrassment "I was kinda locked out my house" I said laughing "oh" Ethan said laughing back "where's Ella?" I asked "she's with Gray" Ethan told me "oh okay" I said, I really like Grayson but I didn't know Ethan that well. "So you and Ella are pretty close then" I said, the both of us sitting down on the edge of his bed "yeah" he said nervously "how did you meet?" I asked curiously "well it all started in kindergarten, it's crazy how we remember the things we find important, no matter how long ago it was.. Grayson and I were messing around building a lego house on our first day of kindergarten when she walked in. Even then she was beautiful, her button nose and those big gorgeous chocolate eyes, her light brown hair neatly put into two perfect pony tails. She walked with a confidence, shoulders slightly back and a small smirk on her face. I saw her stop and her eyes swept across the room, when her eyes met mine she grinned and I felt myself smile too. She walked over and picked up a piece of lego looking at it then back to my design.. she furrowed her brows and stuck her tongue out to the side as she said "maybe here." As she gently added to my lego house. I nodded "hey I'm Ethan and that's my brother Grayson" I said as I turned to see Grayson building his own lego design. We laughed. "Hi Ethan, hi Grayson, I'm Ella." She said with a cheesy smile and a voice as gentle as the hand she used to shake mine. She was different, she didn't think we had boy germs and she wasn't into dolls like the other girls. I immediately knew we were going to be friends." Ethan said smiling to himself, if I'm honest I smiled too, it was such a sweet story, I could tell Ethan liked Ella. Ethan and I were talking to each other, it felt as if I'd known him forever, he was very easy to talk to. We were on the topic of my old friends in England, and when I think back on it they weren't as nice as I thought, we were in a deep conversation until it was interrupted by Grayson and Ella walking in "oh Beth hi" Grayson said smiling "hey" I smiled, "Ethan Ellas just leaving" Grayson told him "okay, I'll be back in a second Beth" Ethan said, Ethan, Ella and Grayson all walked down the stairs in silence and opened the door for Ella "bye Ell" both boys said, Grayson hugged Ella goodbye, and then Ethan did "see you soon" he said as Ella was leaving, they shut the door behind her and ran back up the stairs to join Beth again.
