It had been a week and I was leaving to go across the world tomorrow. My tiny house felt even smaller and more closed in than usual as we had family round helping my parents pack, Josh had his two friends round and Brooke had her closest friend from collage round, and me on the other hand had my group of eight friends round all fitting in one tiny room which only fitted a bed, desk and wardrobe inside. "I can't believe your leaving!" Amy cried, practically all of us were in tears. "I can't imagine what the rest of school, then collage, then university and everything will be like without you!" Ellie said, sniffling after every word. "I can't imagine the group as a 7!" Vicky cried, and everyone else agreeing. We had finished packing my bags checking over and over again that I had everything I needed packed, Josh's and Brooke's friends had already left, I was stood at the door saying goodbye to each of my friends "let's all take one last group selfie before you leave tomorrow!" Amelia cried out, I pulled out my phone and we took several selfies, pulling different faces each time, we all looked hideous, we all had red faces, puffy eyes with water filling them up, snotty noses, all that bad stuff, but none of us cared. It soon came time for them to leave and I hugged them all individually then as a group, I couldn't believe this would be the last time seeing them. I closed the door behind them as they all shuffled out sniffling and rubbing their eyes, sure they were idiots from time to time but they were my best friends, they always have been and always will be.
4:30am the next day
It was now Saturday, the day I have been dreading since I heard the news. I woke up to the awful beeping of my alarm at 4:30am, I unwillingly dragged myself out of bed dragged myself to the bathroom, I washed my face then went and got change in my room, none of us could shower as we needed the towels to be dry. I put on some grey new look tracksuit bottoms and a baby pink over sized jumper saying 'Junk Food' in the centre of it, these were my comfy clothes I wore whenever we were going on a long journey, I ate a small plate of bacon and eggs for breakfast and brushed my teeth, I brushed my long dark brown hair and tied it up in a rushed high ponytail, I then put a lip balm on and mascara, I didn't like wearing makeup on planes, but I didn't want to look like I was dead either. We soon walked out the house and sat in the car, we all fastened our seat belts as mum drove us to Gatwick Airport where we would be getting on our flight to New Jersey.
I woke up on an airplane to the bright lights from the plane and the sound of rushing people, I was obviously asleep for the whole flight. I rubbed my eyes, smudging my black mascara everywhere. Great. I grabbed my hand luggage and pulled it over my shoulder, not caring if I hit anyone, as I followed my family off the plane.
Even though I was really dreading living here, it was a beautiful country, I had a nice quiet neighbourhood and a gigantic house! It was a mansion compared to my tiny terraced house before in London!
We unpacked what we could into our new home and tried settling into the neighbourhood. My parents went out to get used to the area whilst Brooke stayed in the house to look after Josh, whilst I went out penny boarding.I was skating through the area, it was a pretty hot day, especially compared to freezing cold England, I had my headphones in and was in my own world swerving right and left along the pathway on my penny board until I felt a harsh bang and felt myself fall onto the ground, I laid there for a couple of seconds in shock until I heard faint voices "oh god is she okay!" I pulled my headphones out my ears and grabbed my penny board, I saw a strong, sun-kissed arm reach out for me, I held it and got pulled straight up, I looked at who had helped me, still holding their hand, and omg he was godly. He had brown hair, partly tinted blonde at the front styled back into a quiff and was wearing a white tank top where when you look carefully you can see his well defined six pack, he had the cutest smile and deep, dark brown eyes, I think I might like this neighbourhood if I bump into him more often. "I'm so sorry about that I wasn't looking where I was going" he said in a deep but heavenly voice, I smiled at him "it's okay it was my fault anyway, I didn't know where I was going, I'm new to America" I said in a rush "are you from England?" I heard another boy say, I looked next to the godly looking boy and saw someone who looked just like him, they must of been twins! He had dark brown curly hair with a strand of purple in the front, he was also wearing a tank top, except this one was black, he had the same chocolate brown eyes as the first boy. "Yes I am, I just arrived here today" I said "maybe we can show you around some time" I heard someone say, a girl this time, I looked next to the other twin to see a girl linked arms with him, she had light brown hair and was slightly smaller than both boys, she had bright white teeth creating a lovely smile and also brown eyes, she was very pretty. "I'm Ella by the way" she said smiling widely, I nodded to her "and this is Ethan" pointing to the boy she had linked arms with "and that's Grayson" she said pointing to the one who helped me up "well it was nice to meet all of you, I'm Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Beth" I said smiling "I better go, and I'm sorry again" I said, staring into Grayson's beautiful brown eyes, I turned around and smiled as I started to skate away. Maybe New Jersey won't be so bad after all.
