Struggling to get free from the tight grasp of strong hands on her arms, Skye kicked and shouted as two guards dragged her down a dark hallway towards a caged area.

"TAKE ME BACK! TAKE ME BACK! - UGH!  - WARD! - YOU SON OF A -" The cage door was swung open and she was thrown carelessly inside. Landing hard on her back she groaned and rolled over onto her side, and would've made a run for it but the door was already locked and the guards out of sight. "DAMN."

The one flickering bulb that hung above her made a horrid buzzing noise like the static from an old radio. Determined to get out, she crawled quietly over to the door and tried to pick at the lock. She broke a nail in doing so. DAMN.

"It's no use" came a gruff voice from behind her "there's no getting out."
Skye slowly turned around to see the man who'd kidnapped her. He was bruised and battered on the side of his face.
"Oh, it's you," she replied rolling her eyes, and went back to examining the door, attempting to ignore him.
"They don't like it when you try," he said kind of sorrowfully, rubbing the bone of his purple cheek.
"Why don't you just use your powers to teleport yourself out of here?" Skye questioned, agravation in her voice. The man only shrugged.
"My powers don't seem to work in here," he said half angry half sad, mixed emotions on his face. Skye nodded in reply,
"Containment room, we've got one of those back on the Bus," she mumbled to herself.

Then out of the blue the man began to cry. Skye stood there by the door, a little awkward, and coughed lightly.
"You okay big fella?" Trying to sound funny in some way. Like that was going to help, but she did it anyway. Seemed to work with most of her team mates. Although May was still a tough nut to crack.
"I'm so... so sorry for what's happened. What... what have I done?" He scraped his hands over his head through his dark hair, and cried even more.

Even though he'd kidnapped her, Skye felt pity for him. There was more to this story then she thought.
"Hey, I've got a feeling that what you did wasn't really your fault, right?" Skye stepped a little closer to him but being cautious not to get too close. The man shook his head slowly.
"I'm not... I'm not your father." Skye stared at him confused but also relieved at the news.
"Yeah, I think I already guessed that. So why did you kidnap me? And what possesed you to hurt May? And Jemma? Please tell me," Skye pleaded for answers and the man closed his hands around his ears like his thoughts were caving in on his troubled mind.
"My wife, they have my wife..." He began to mumer words she couldn't hear and began to twitch slightly.

Skye bent down to touch him on the shoulder gently.
"Hey its okay, you can trust me-"
"Don't touch me!" he swiped his head quickly up to face her. His voice was two octaves lower than it was a few seconds ago and his eyes were glowing. Skye jumped back and started to panic as she watched him slowly stand up before her, muscles twitching, eye glaring, his veins burning with explosive power.
"Okay, just, calm down. I forgive you for what happened, let's just take a deep breath and we can figure this all out-"
He roared like a lion and slowly stepped towards her. Skye found herself edging towards the cage door as the man (or whatever he was, part human part animal by the sounds of things) stepped closer.
"Stop!" She shouted as she felt the cold bars of the caged door pressing into her back. He stopped and seemed to come back to his normal self for a second. He looked worried and frightened, probably of himself and what he had become.
"Run, get out of here, run as fast as you can. Don't trust Ward, don't trust Hydra, it's all a trap. He's trying to lure SHIELD here so he can end them, he's going to end you all-" he twitched and his eyes were beginning to glow again, "Run!" He roared just before he switched back to the beast he was and thrust all his strength against the cage door, Skye diving out of the way before he could go through her first. He stood there, breathing heavily, his shoulders broad and his fists clenched.

Skye stared up at him in fear of the sheer amount of power he had just enforced upon the cage.
"Who are you?"
He looked down at her,
"My name is Hersfeld. Now," he held out his hand to her, "Let's go."
