Part 38

Aarons POV

Two days later

After about two seconds of sleep all night, the warehouse door opened somewhere. Fuck. I couldn't even look to see because I was in that much pain. "What have you done to him? I knew the boy was up to no good...he needs help! You weren't meant to hurt him!" A familiar voice said. Why can't I put a face to it? "Im sorry boss, the other's just went wild" one of the twats said, but his voice was new. "Do you know how long we could get sent down for this? I cant go back to prison...dear god I cant!" The first man said. Wait a minute..."I'm so sorry about this Aaron. You need a hospital!" He said as he stood closer. "Lawrence?!" I asked, obviously shocked, and groaned as my ribs hurt from the movement. "I'm so so sorry, Lachlan is going to get it!" He told me, but I interrupted. "No, what he's going to get is a nice cell, locked away for good" My voice was raspy and weak from trying not to move my chest too much. "Im calling an ambulance, I knew he should have been sent away" Lawrence muttered. I'm glad he couldn't even look at me, at least he had a tiny shred of decency. Just before he walked away, he turned round to the man and said "For gods sake L, put some clothes on the poor boy!". The guy who I now knew as 'L' also ran out, returning seconds later with some clothes for me. "I'm really sorry about this I-I couldn't stop them, oh my god I'm sorry" he cried, gently helping me dress. I didn't reply, partly because I was seething with anger, and I didn't want to cry out in pain because my left ribs are obviously broken. I don't even know about my right. He ran back out afterwards and shortly an ambulance arrived, and Lawrence came back in, telling them where I am. "...no I found him here, I've got a good idea of who did this though" he told them. "Sir, we'll need you to make a statement about what happened" the paramedic replied, running over to me. Another one joined him with a gurney, and some medical supplies. "M-make sure my daughter doesn't know I've gone!" He shouted before running out. That was the last thing I could remember before everything went...

Robert's POV

I hadn't left the pub. I knew that Liv had Aaron's old room, so I slept on the couch. In fact, I didn't move from it much. Liv had offered her room up, but I refused. "It's your room" I told her, and she nodded with a sad smile. Cain had been doing shifts for Chas, considering Charity's gone walkies (not keeping to the actual storyline at all), and I'd only managed to do four. Today I told Liv we could go to McDonalds, to try and lighten our spirits. We don't really go considering we live an hour away from the closest one but I drove there. We'd chosen to bring it back, as I had bought a double cheeseburger for Chas and to be honest we would probably end up crying at some point. "Thank you" Liv mumbled with a small smile, which I returned. We ate in silence. Until my phone rang. "H-Hello?. DS Wise-Robert I hope you're dressed. Me-Why?. DS Wise-Aaron's been found, been taken to Hotten A&E, but he's in a stable condition now. Me-That's great! I'm on my way! I hung up and turned to Liv. "You better eat that in the car". "Okay but w-why?". "AARON'S BEEN FOUND!!" I practically screamed loud enough for the entire village to hear, and Liv jumped up. "Yes!! Come on I'll get Chas!" she exclaimed as she ran out. I grabbed the last bite of my Big Mac and ate the few fries I had left before running out with my car keys. Chas came running out with Liv as we all climbed into my car, me driving as I nearly broke the speed limit. We were all crying at this point.

Aaron's POV

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. My eyelids fluttered open as I looked around. I was in a hospital room Huh? I tried to move, but an agonising pain shot down my arm and through my chest. "ARGH" I groaned, to look down and see my arm in a cast and my ribs heavily bandaged. The beeping quickened as I started to feel dizzy, and then people surrounded me. The beeping went back to normal and I was left alone for a bit until I heard a familiar voice I've been wanting to hear for too long. "C-can we see him?" Robert asked, and a quick yes was mumbled. All of a sudden, Robert, Liv and my mum were all surrounding me. "H-hey" Liv was the first one to speak, and I smiled. "Hey". A warm pair of hands were gently placed on my face as a soft pair of lips kissed me. "Oh we've missed you so much!" Robert exclaimed, and I chuckled a bit, only feeling a faint twinge of pain in my chest. "Boy you must be on some strong painkillers" my mum said as she stroked my chin. "Why am I in here?" I asked. "Uh, you went missing. It turns out Lachlan had some guys kidnap you, and, and...well. T-the sa-same thing that G-Gordon did. He's on trial in two weeks" my mum said, hate pretty clear in her voice when she spoke about Lachlan and Gordon. Ugh. "I-They-What?" How could I not remember? As if he'd read my thoughts, Robert told me "You're on strong pain meds. You won't remember yet, A". The nickname warmed my heart, only a bit though after the news I was just told. "Why?" I asked. I wanted to know what had happened. "Your arm was broken in three places, a few of your ribs were broken and you've got mild burns on your wrists and ankles" he told me as he squeezed my hand. I just stayed silent for a while, but then spoke up. "You, you know I was gonna ask you to m-move in with us, Liv". "R-Really?". I nodded. "Yeah, that's only if you want to though" I quickly added in. "Of course I do! I-I'd hug you, but...yeah. High five?" Liv asked, and I raised my not shattered arm as Robert let go. She high-fived me, and even gave Robert a hug.

Robert's POV

Aaron looked so shocked when Liv hugged me. I hugged her back and smiled at the both of them. "Yeah, they've oddly bonded like mad over these few days, confused me too love" Chas spoke up, making him giggle a bit again, off his head on pain meds, and he smiled a bit. "I'm glad, that'll make living with the both of you much easier". Then his face changed. "What's wrong?" I asked, worry quickly talking over us all. "I remember what they did!" Aaron cried out.

Hi guys! Don't hate me I made that a happy chapter ending sort of maybe not okay! Obviously its not going to be so happy because of what's happened and what they're gonna have to go through. Also I apologise for not updating in ages again, if I'm honest I've been quite depressed lately. I've noticed this book is on 4.8k reads at the moment and that's really lifted my spirits and motivated me to write the chapter so thank you!! :)
