A/N: Oh my god, thank you so much for all of the reads!!! That's absolutely insane to me. I can't believe people actually like my book! I'd also like to say I haven't updated in a long time, so I'm sorry if this chapter isn't good. I just wanted to post one.

I dedicate this chapter to darksweetnight. Thanks for being so awesome! I really appreciate everything, and sorry for lying to you about when I was going to update. I suck, I'm sorry.

Chapter 16

~Meet The Carson's~

My eyes flutter open and I yawn loudly while stretching my arms above my head. I turn on my right side to look at the clock and have a mini heart attack when the green letters display, 10:47... Then I remember I have today off.
I push myself up and look around but Archer isn't in here, so I get up and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and pee.

After I'm done I go back into the room and slip on some sweats, before making my way downstairs. I walk into the kitchen to find Mike roughly scrubbing the top of the island, looking as if he's deep in thought.

"What are you doing?" I ask tiredly, which seems to startle him as he jumps and snaps his head up. He puts the rag down, then comes around the counter and pulls me close to him.

"Jeremy's parents are coming," he whispers, sounding extremely nervous.

"Okay... why are we whispering?" I whisper-yell, and he hushes me by waving his hand.

"Shh! It's a surprise." I make an 'o' shape with my mouth. "After they retired they decided to travel the world. They rarely get to visit, so we decided to surprise Jeremy. Even his sister is coming."

"Oh," I mumble, then brush past him to sit at the island. Mike goes to the other side and gets a cup, then pours some coffee into it and hands it to me. I smile gratefully, then bring the steaming cup to my lips to take a drink. Mike looks down at the counter and starts gnawing on his lip as his eyebrows slowly knit together.

"So what about your parents?" I ask after awhile. He looks up and hums, so I repeat the question. After I do I immediately regret it, because he frowns and a sad look replaces his nervous one.

"They weren't excepting when I came out to them," he explains.

"Oh," I mutter. "What about Josh?"

"Well, he got upset and hasn't talked to them since they disowned me."

"I'm so sorry, Mike."

"No it's okay! It sucks you know? But I'm super happy right now and that's all that matters." I nod slowly. I can completely relate. Losing my parents is the hardest thing that I've gone through, and all though I miss them like crazing, if it wasn't for me losing my dad I wouldn't have ended up here; with Archer. Although, it'd be awesome if I could still have my parents along with Archer, but you don't always get what you want... unfortunately.

I sigh and lean my head down to rest on the counter. "You seem... tired," Mike points out. I raise my hand to flick my wrist.

"No, I'm fine."

"No Axel, you've been working hard lately. I mean you get up, go to work, come home, and start doing homework." I push myself back up and cross my arms.
