"It's going to take a fortune to fix this windscreen" Kolapo complained as he looked sadly at his wrecked Mercedes Benz AMG.
The sun was just emerging and Holly, who was leaning on the front porch railing and fiddling with her phone, suddenly jumped as though she'd been hit with a jolt of electricity.
"It's a lie!" she screamed.
Kola turned to her in confusion and blurted,
"It's over 8,000 dollars. That's someone's 10-year income"
"Not the fucking windshield. Your Dad. He's coming to Ghana tonight."
"Ehn? You say wetin?"
"Nna gi na bia"
Kolapo didn't say a word. He took his phone from his back pocket and dialed his Dad's number.
"Good evening Sir"
##############
"Fine Sir,"
##############
"No, I'm at a business conference in Accra with my some of my coursemates."
##############
"We're supposed to go back to school tomorrow but I wanted to come home for a few days because we don't have lectures till next week."
##############
"Just to rest a little bit. The conference has been quite exhausting because we've been doing a lot of field work."
##############
"No Problem sir, see you then."
##############
"Thank you Dad, Have a nice day"
"Problem Solved"
Kola said as he ended the call and put his phone in his back pocket."You're a devil o. You this boy"
Holly said as she stared into Kola's eyes.Kola took a green tarp and spread it over the Mercedes and walked onto the porch.
He walked up to the spot where Holly stood and gently hugged her from behind and kissed her. Then he whispered in her right ear."At least I still have You"
