The music from my brothers party downstairs echoed through the thin walls of his extremely oversized house. It's Friday. On the first Friday of every month he throws a huge party for no apparent reason and has done for the past year that we moved here with mum in Malibu.

My brother and I have never really gotten along. When we were younger mum and dad argued a lot and I took mums side but Michael chose dad over mum and I. A couple of months later dad kicked Michael out because he says "he didn't have the money to keep him" and he had to come and live with us. It wasn't long until he bought a house of his own and moved round the corner from mum and I. And that's where I am right now because mum is out with her new boy toy, David. So I'm here at Michael's on the worst night I could possibly be stuck here.

I'm dehydrated. Unfortunately for me that means I have to go downstairs into the big crowd of people that I've probably never met. I stood up and slipped on my jacket seeing as the only thing I am wearing is a vest top and shorts. I opened the door and walked down the stairs. The smell of alcohol, weed and sweat lingered in the air making it practically impossible to breathe without throwing up in my mouth. I walked into the kitchen and laid my eyes on Michael. He was standing between some girls legs who was sitting on the counter top, making out with him. I rolled my eyes and squeezed through the crowd to the fridge next to my brother. When I opened the fridge I felt the all to familiar green eyes burning holes into the side of my face. Once I grabbed a bottle of water I shut the fridge and turned to my annoying ass brother who was glaring at me while still holding that girl.

"What are you doing down here and why the fuck are you wearing that? you're being stared at like you're the last fucking girl on earth." Micheal said, staring at my pyjamas in disgust. The girl on the counter top whispered something into his ear then jumped down and walked to god knows where and when I look back at him he is smirking as he watched her walk off. I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl sitting in the island in the middle of all the drinks.

"Don't worry, i'm going back to bed. I just wanted a bottle of water and I'm going to sleep not to a fucking fashion show you ass. I'll wear whatever I like." I snapped, snarling Michael. He drank the last of his drink and marched upstairs. What a fucking prick.

After pushing my way through crowds of people, some that I knew, some I'd never seen before, I made it upstairs and brushed my teeth in the bathroom attached to the room I was staying in. I didn't bother showering so I could have one when I woke up in the morning.

When I checked my phone it was 2:47pm and I had a text from mum telling me that she was home and I was welcome to come back tonight as long as I had my keys. I threw my phone on the bed and grabbed my bag only to find that I left my fucking keys. Great. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to try and sleep here. The warmth of the sheets made my muscles loosen up and helped me to relax. I lay in the darkness, the only source of light came from the crack of the bedroom door. My eyes got heavier and before I knew it I was fast asleep.

The next morning consisted of me silently laughing at a hungover Michael clean up the mess from the party last night before mum came to check on him and bring me home. There was a knock on the door and I knew it was mum. I opened the door and greeted my mother with a hug.

"Goodmorning sweetheart. How was your night?" My mother asked, walking into the house. It was partly cleaned except the odd botte of vodka or can of beer. I could tell she was annoyed.

"It was awful. I barely slept. I just cant wait to be back in my own bed." I replied, grabbing my bag and jacket from the living room and getting ready to leave. Mum looked at me with sympathetic eyes and I knew she was going to tell me bad news. "What?" I slumped my shoulders, dropping my bag off them and onto my forearm, glaring at her with with moody eyes.
