Brendon-
I woke up with the worst headache ever. I woke up on my couch in nothing but leather pants to the noise to my coffee machine beeping. I groaned as I crawled off the couch and turned it off.
What the hell happened last night?
I remember getting to the bar now this. My neck and back and hips were sore. Did someone stay over? I don't remember talking to anyone or anything like that.I stumbled to my bathroom looking at myself in the mirror slightly surprised as to all the bruises that were on my neck and torso.
"Well someone got lucky."
I muttered to myself stripping to get in the shower only to find more bruises on my inner thighs.I got a shower and got dressed getting a bagel and a cup of coffee. I stood outside my house looking at my roses. I'm sure Ryan would like one.
This is cute
You have a thing for roses. It's a bit weird
Incorrect. I have a thing for Ryan. I know he likes roses
Well he hates them now
I frowned. Gerard was right. Ryan hates me and roses, because of me. It's not like he'd make out with me or anything. Come to think of it, Gerard probably hates me too. He always told me he'd rather spend his time with anyone else but me.
"Good morning, Brendon!"
"Oh hey Melanie!"
Good morning!" I called looking up from my flowers.
"Late night?" she asked.
I nodded.
"What about you?'
I asked.
"I stayed up long enough to see you stumble into your house."
"How late was that?" I asked.
"I don't remember. Shouldn't you be getting to work?" she questioned.Shit.
I completely forgot about school. I ran inside without saying goodbye and grabbed my bag, my coffee, and my keys and ran out the door to my car. I was stuck in rush hour traffic. I was usually really good about leaving early enough to miss it but this time I clearly wasn't lucky"RUN FOREST RUN!"
Jack yelled as I ran down the hallway to my classroom as the bell rang.
"SHUT IT BARAKAT!"
I yelled as I slid into my classroom as the bell rang.
"Hey class how's life?" I asked whilst panting heavily.
I got a chorus of hellos as I walked over to my desk to turn on my computer."Do you have a flower for Mr Ross today?"
One girl, Shannon I think was her name, asked.Well he hates them now
I tried not to over think the fact that I ruined flowers for the man that I lov-liked. No. I was in love with him and it was a problem. A big problem and it was making everyone else's lives harder. Like Gerard. Gerard was a nice guy that deserved much better friends than me. I was a wreck, a wreck that he wasn't obligated to take care of. And yet I continued to shove my problems and my flamboyant problematic personality on him when he's clearly stated that he doesn't want to spend time with me.
I was a waste of time. I was a complete waste and I should feel ashamed of myself for wasting peoples time.
Nobody would miss me if I were to- No Brendon, you are not thinking like that. Not during school a least.
But I wasn't wrong.
I sucked in a deep breath as I looked up from my desk.
"Does anyone like Disney?" I said avoiding the question completely. Pretty much the whole class cheered.I smiled. Maybe this could keep me from thinking about things too much.
"Oh hey Brendon is it okay if I ask you something?"
Tyler asked poking his head into my room.
"Oh sure. What's up?"
I asked sitting back in my roll-y chair. My classroom was empty, it was lunch time."What did you do last night?"
I let out a sigh as I ran my hand through my hair.
"Honestly Tyler I don't remember. I went to a bar then I woke up at home. Why do you ask?" I replied, crossing my legs."Oh um nothing, it's just you and Ryan-"
"Me and Ryan?!"
"U-um yeah. Both of you called me drunk from Ryans phone late last night, and I was just wondering what was up with that."He was nervous, I could tell.
"Oh I don't know really," I laughed nervously
"Thanks for telling me about this Tyler."
"It's no problem Brendon," he said quietly shutting the door.I closed my eyes and let out another sigh. Why did stuff like this always happen to me?
What was that quote? Bad things happen to good people? Well that seemed to apply to me, except that I wasn't a good person. So I guess that bad things did happen to bad people. And I was living proof of that.
"Why didn't the romans find algebra very hard?" I looked up to see Dallon standing in my open door way."Excuse me?" I asked looking at him surprised.
'Why didn't the romans find algebra very hard?" I looked at him confused. He sighed. "Just say why."
"I don't know why?"
"Because X was always 10," he said bursting into laughter. I smiled pretending to be annoyed.
"Just because you're the math teacher doesn't mean you can make bad math jokes." I said laughing.
"That's exactly what I get to do, and that's exactly what I'm going to do." he said laughing.
I looked at him. He was tall. He was also wearing a bright red sweater and green shorts. It defiantly wasn't a look that many people would try, but it was definitely a look that Dallon would try, and win at.
"So do you wanna come eat lunch with me in my room?" he asked after a moment. I looked at him, surprised.
"Oh well um, I would love to but I have to get this power point done. I'm sorry." You could see the disappointment in his eyes.
"Oh okay. See you later Brendon," he said leaving.
And I was alone again.
I just didn't want to be a burden.
Well technically he invited me so...
I got up and grabbed my lunch box. I marched down the hall and pushed open Dallon's door.
"I would love to have lunch with you Dallon Weekes," I said confidently. He looked up and smiled. "Awesome! Come sit down!"
I sat down across from him and started eating.
I suddenly felt embarrassed. I had just rejected him, but here I was.
"So hows life?" I asked after a few seconds of silence.
"Pretty boring, but this cute guy at work decided to have lunch with me today so thats made it better." he said taking a bite of his sandwich, mustard dripping into his cheek.
"Oh is that so?" I said my eyes trailing to his lips.
"Yeah, he's a really great guy."
What if we just tried something. Just to see what it'd be like. Just to see.
I could imagine it. His soft plush looking lips.
I looked back up at his eyes. He was staring at me. Keeping eye contact I reached across the table and dragged my thumb across where the mustard was. He grabbed my arm and sucked the mustard off my finger .
I let out a shaky breath as I pulled my hand back and sat down in my chair again.
"Do you want to come over for dinner tonight?"
"Fuck yes."
