4 years later...

Katerina

"Katie, are you sure you want to move out?" My mom asked.

"Mom, I just want to be more independent. I'm still going to stop by all the time. Everyday if you want,"
I said.

My mom sighed. "I know. It's just different. When you leave it's just gonna be your dad and I in this big house," she said.

"Mom, we're always here," I said, chuckling.

"It's still different," she said. "Anyways, if this is what you really want then you know that your dad and I will support you."

I smiled. I really do have such amazing parents.

"Thanks mom," I said, hugging her. "Will you help me tell dad?"

I said after a few moments, causing us both to laugh.

"You're on your own, sweetie," my mom said, making us laugh harder.

"Hi brat," my brother Dylan said, before ruffling hair.

"Dyllie!" I groaned.

"Hi, mom," he said, kissing our mom in her cheek.

I looked at my brother and smiled. Just about 6 months earlier when we went through the ordeal of Katherine being kidnapped, but thank god, they managed to find her in time and save her from Pedro Sanchez, a psycho who's now rotting in jail.

Two months after that ordeal, they married in a church with only our closest family and friends in attendance. Now, Katherine is pregnant with their first child. I couldn't be happier. Though a pang of hurt hit me at the thought of them having a child, I was still happy for them and at the knowledge that I'm going to be an aunt again. Plus, I have a new sister, whom we all love and adore. She's been through so much and I admire her strength and courage. Like my sister Lia, she too, suffered in the hands of a monster, but because of their husbands, they were able to move on from the past and embrace their future.

Dave

She's been back for almost a month and I still haven't seen her.

She's avoiding me.

Whenever I'm around, she seems to disappear.

I hate it.

I fucking hate it.

But you know why, you asshole! A voice inside me said.

But before I could think about that further, "Hey man, everything alright?" Nate asked as he walked in, interrupting my thoughts.

"Nothing," I grumbled.

"I'm heading over to mom and dad's to help Katie with the move," he said.

I looked at him.

"We could really use your help," he said with amusement.

I glared at him.

Nate chuckled. "She's been back for a month Dave, I think it's time you two face each other."

"I'm not hiding from her," I said.

"You didn't exactly go after her when she left after the wedding," Nate pointed out.

"She told me to leave her alone and that's exactly what I did," I said.

"You idiot. That's code for, 'prove to me you mean it, asshole.'"
