EMERGENCY! Halloween

      Gage turned his head and squinted at the house they had approached. It was decorated with spiders, scarecrows, and other spooky items. Bones were strewn across the lawn and headstones were placed by the front steps. Only the porch light was on.
       "Roy" John whispered as the kids ran to the beginning of the walkway, "doesn't this house look-" "Cheesy" "Yeah and familiar. Don't'cha think?" "Yeah" Roy said looking closer "Maybe we had a rescue here?"
      Somehow they knew that wasn't the answer but they just couldn't place it. "Can we start here? Can we?" Emily asked bouncing up and down. "Su-" Roy was cut off by a sniffle. A certain princess and kitten were peaking at the house from behind Johnny; both in tears.
      "You girls don't have to go if you don't want to. You can stay with me and the boys and Emily can go with Uncle Johnny here" Roy winked at John as the girls scuttled over to the senior paramedic. "Good deal!" John said herding the kids up the pathway. Now I can show Roy just how much I can help.
      The group slowed as the reached the steps to the house. Somehow it seamed a lot spookier up close. Gage jumped when he thought he saw the curtain in the window move.
      "Uncle Johnny? Would... would you go first. Just so we don't ya know trip or anything..."  Peter said nervously while the others nodded in agreement. John chuckled but he was probably just as nervous. Something was just to familiar about this house.
      He walked up the steps and knocked on the door. "See" Johnny laughed "nothing to- AHHHH" He was stopped by a bucket of cold water splashing over him. The soaking paramedic stood completely still, arms out, as he watched the kids run, screaming, back to Roy.
      Hysterical laughing came from a mustached man doubled over in the doorway. "YOU- HA HA HA HA- YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE LOOK ON YOUR FACE! Oh priceless, priceless!" "CHET!" Chet Kelly continued to laugh and looked up when he heard more laughing.
      The whole group, Roy included, was laughing at him. He tried his best not to smile, but Johnny couldn't help it and burst out laughing as well.
