I walk downstairs and see my parents sitting at the table. My dad is drinking coffee and my mom is reading the newspaper. I have no idea why she reads that thing anymore. She can just get the news online or on the news app.
My mom flips the page and sighs. ¨What is this world coming to?¨
¨What is it?¨ Dad asks. He looks over mom's shoulder.
¨Our world always broadcasts the tragedy! No wonder so many people are depressed.¨
¨What happened¨ I ask, grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl.
¨Ahh, the reporter thinks we should know about a local girl's suicide. " I freeze for a second and they keep talking. I catch small snippets of the conversation. "4 days ago..... stupid....selfish"
"What was her name?" I ask pretending not to care. I feel a sinking feeling in my stomach.
"Raven or something," mom says glancing at the paper. "She went to your school."
