Thor almost busts out laughing at Sif's response, though he knows that she is all too serious about her apology. He would always let her punch his brother if she feels it is justified.
He knows that if Lady Sif believes the punch is justified, then she has good reason to follow through with the punch. He has a good amount of faith in his fellow warrior and it shows through in this moment as he pulls her back toward him.
He cups her cheek with a gentle hand as he gazes intently into her eyes for a moment. His voice is soft as he begins to speak to her after a moment.
"Do not be sorry about something that is so obviously justified, my lady. I do not fault you for your actions in the least. I do not believe my brothers had any right to do that to you, especially without you wanting in on the marriage. I do not believe I have ever seen you interested in anyone...until now. I cannot seem to shake the look in your eyes from my own mind's eye. I wonder what it could mean. I am not a mind-reader, after all. Are you going to let me in on it willingly or am I going to be left tortured for the rest of my immortal days?"
He laughs quietly to himself as he winks at Sif in a playful manner. He has not felt the desire to be playful with anyone in quite some time, though Lady Sif is quite used to this side of Thor by this point.
It makes Thor smile to himself that someone could know him better than his own parents. It would figure that this person would be the Goddess of War. Why wouldn't it be Sif, though, since their Asgardian powers are so similar in nature?
It makes perfect sense to Thor that Sif would know him better than anyone else in the solar system. He is glad that it is Sif since he knows he can trust her with anyone on his mind or in his heart. Would he be able to tell her of his romantic feelings for her, however?
Would he be brave enough to fare rejection if he is to tell her? He is not so sure he can answer that question right now, though they are in an intimate pose right now as he thinks through his thoughts in the heat of the moment.
Why wouldn't he be brave over everything standing in his path?
Lady Sif did something that she was not normally known for. She let out a giggle and then looked down shyly. "I...I think I am falling in love with you."She bit her lip and tried to get the rest of her courage back.
This was not easy for her say because even though he has shown that he cared for her, he had never stated as such that he wanted her to be his. She hoped that he would. She was not interested in anyone else.
It is interesting that the loving side of her was coming out now as she was more of the goddess of war. She herself would rather be battle fighting more than anything else. Well except for being in Thor's arms she definitely liked that.
She pulled herself out of her reverie and looked back up at him now. A tinge of worry in her heart as she had just confessed to him her feelings. Thor had been the one constant in her life.
She trusted him by her side in battle and he had proved himself worthy of honor, time and time again. She could not help falling in love with him, though she was not sure if he felt the same way. He was gone so much helping the humans, but she would not have it any other way.
She knew that he was doing what he thought was right. He had a kind heart and she knew damn well that she could never tell him to stop doing such a thing. She had thought about going with him on one of his missions, but what kind of mischief would the brothers get into while they were gone?
