Chapter 8

Xander pov

"Time for dessert!" my grandma said. The waiters walk in get the plates and walk back in the kitchen.

"You know your nephew already has a mate, Chris?" grandma asked dad. I sigh and lean back in the chair.

"Does he now?" he said. I look at star, she quickly looked away from something and looked at her hands.

I look behind her but when I didn't see anything I turn back around.

"Xander, you know your cousin's birthday is next week?" grandpa said. I nod.

"Well they heard you fount your mate and want you and her to come for the party." he said. I was about to nod but stopped.

"You know we can't go." I said. He was about to ask why but looked at star.

"Ohhhh, damn I forgot." he said. I grad stars hand and she looked up at me then smile.

"You know if you don't come to them they come to you." dad said, he know cause that's his sister.

"They'll just have to come to me, I'm not taking chances." I said. Star looks around confused.

"What?" she asked. I squeeze her hand. She lifts an eyebrow at me.
"It's nothing." I said. I thought I saw the red in her eye glow a little but I wasn't sure, but I fount out real quick.

"Ah, shit!" I yelled. Star hand that I was holding cout fire and I quickly let go.

"Does it have something to do with me?" she asked. I help my hand in my lap pouting.

"Fifty, fifty." mom said. I roll my eyes.

"If it's family business I can understand, but if it's about me, I want to know." she said.

Demanding are we? Hunter said. I roll my eyes again.

"It's my daughter." grandma said. Star nod understanding.

"She's racist." star said plainly. There was a short silence.

"Yayyyyyyyyyy." my sister said stretching the y. Star shrugs her shoulders not caring.

"Trust me, I've been in WAY worse problems then racism." she said. At that statement I remember what she said this morning.

I look around the room, thinking he didn't show up, until I saw that red head son of a bi**h, and get this, he was already looking at me.

We stare each other down until the waiters come out the kitchen and walked in.

I turn back and look at the table when the dessert comes. I stare at the strawberry piece of cake until someone calls my name.

I look up and everyone was looking at me. Star tacks her phone out and puts the camera on and turn it my way.

I was in my wolf form. I put my head on her shoulder, stars.

Hunter what the hell!? I yell at him.

Well since the dinner party is almost over, I thought we'll go say hi to, what's his face. He said back. I pause and think.

Don't think you'll get a pat on the back. I said. He tells me he'll get his gift tomorrow.

I look back at Seth and growl a little. Star stiffens, realizing who I was growing at.

Xander, st- but I cut her when I jump and run towards him. It's what he mouthed that got to me.

Fatty.

He didn't shift fast enough and I bit down on his shoulder. His beta know he couldn't beet me and stayed his to his seat, wild-eyed so did his hoe, everyone in the room know that.

I let go of his shoulder and was about to pounce again. But a black and white wolf jumped in my way. It took me a second to realize it was star.

I stare at her teeth bared and she stares back growling. We stare each other down until I back down, for now. I turn my back and run out the room into the room I usually stay in when I visit and get changed.

Star pov

I watch Xander run out the room. When he was out of sight everyone turned my way. I look back at Seth then walk away from him.

Shift back. Blaze said.

I will when I get out the room. I said back to her.

No now, trust us. Crystal said. I say no.

You want be naked I promise. Blaze said. I walk behind the table then shift back. Every man in the room turned away.

I look down. I was wearing a red jumper and red heels.

What?  I asked walking back to sit down.

I really don't know how to explain it. Crystal said. Blaze nods.

Xander walks back in, but when he sat down we didn't say anything to each other and the tension between us was thick as an ice burg. I could tell everyone else saw and felt it because they was looking back and forth between us.

"I think that's the end of the party everyone!" Xander's mom said. His grandparents nod and gets up. Everyone gets up and start to clear the room. I get up and walk behind his grandparents.

When everyone was gone and the cars was pulling out his grandma rushed everyone to the living room.

I sit in a single chair on the left side of the room. His parents, his sister and Troy sit on one chair. His grandparents sits on one chair and he sits on the other single chair that's on the right side of the room and Xavier, Derek and there son sits on the same chair with Xavier's grandparents.

He looks me up and down. I didn't the same.

"Problem?" I ask. He shrugs.

"You tell me." he said. His grandfather clears his throat.

"Honey, aren't you going to do whatever you called us in here to do?" he asked. She nods.

She gets up goes to a shelf pushes the shelf out the way and there was this other little shelf behind it. She gets a small box off the it punches the book shelf back and walked back to her spot.

She pushes the box my way. I look at her, she nods.

I reach for it, but when my hand was a inch from it, it shocked me. I his and pull my hand back.

"It shocked me to, just don't pay attention to it." his grandma said. I reach for it, it shocked but I pushed my self and grabbed the top.

"It's your mothers." she said. I open the lid slowly and the moment it was half open a bright ass light shines out. I jump back and cover my eyes. When the light dims I uncover my eyes. Everyone looks at me then the box. I lean back to the box abd look in.

A crown.

I look at it for a long time. I look up at xander's grandma. She looks at the crown then me.

I look back at it and reach for it, I touch it then pick it up.

Blaze, crystal what is this for? I ask. They shack there head.

It's to early, your not ready. Blaze said. I look at the crown in my hand. I put it back in the box.

"What does it mean?" I ask. His grandma picked it up out the box walked in front of me and put it on my head then stepped back.

"I'll let you wait and find out." she said.
