The night has passed in Inazuma Town, and the sun slowly rises from the darkness, engulfing the town in light. The events of last night's announcement for the beginning of the Football Frontier's preliminary matches, have gone and passed. Within the living quarters of a small yet cozy home, slept a boy with brown hair, covering himself in his warm blanket sheets.

"Football Frontier..." Was the boy's audible mumble, as his words slurred together.

"Hey, how long are you going to keep sleeping?! You'll be late for school!" Was the loud yell of the boy's mother from downstairs. Without a moments waste, the boy's eyes shot open, revealing lively chocolate brown orbs, all sleep that was once present now gone without a trace.

"Frontier! Football Frontier!" The boy yelled, practically jumping out of bed, and running to his bathroom.

Endou Mamoru, preferably known as Endou, is a young soccer player, aspiring to become one of the best, just like his grandfather, Endou Daisuke used to be. Even though Endou's mother disliked the idea of her son playing soccer, she allowed it soon after.

Why would his mother dislike soccer, you say?

A question worth answering, indeed.

It is believed that Endou Daisuke, father of Endou's mother, had died in an accident 40 years ago, resulting in Endou's mother to dislike soccer, as she blamed the sport for losing her father at a young age. But, it seems the gene of Endou Daisuke had passed down to Endou Mamoru, resulting in him having the unwavering will to play the sport his mother disliked so much, much to her chagrin. Endou Mamoru is currently the captain and goalkeeper of Raimon Junior High, the same position as Daisuke's before his death.

Within the Endou residence, the front door abruptly burst open, and out came Endou. As he ran and skidded out his house's gate, a hotdog hung out of his clamped teeth, his broad smile not hindered from the said food.

"Frontier!" Endou exclaimed with his mouth full.

"Ohayō!" Greeted a cheery voice of a girl with green hair and green eyes. Kino Aki is the friend of Endou, and current manager of the Raimon Soccer Club. Endou waves at her in greeting, as he literally shoves the food in his mouth, and gobbles it up. "You look silly."

"The Football Frontier is here!" Was Endou's exclamation, as he ran ahead of Kino, running passed two figures as he rounded a corner. The two figures, one male and the other female, watched as Endou ran passed them, both of their gaze calculating Endou's movements. They continued walking soon after, seeming to act indifferent with what had just occurred.

"Ohayō!" Said a fairly large first year Raimon student, with green afro styled hair. Kabeyama is Raimon's defense, and a practical scaredy-cat. Along with his scared personality, he has an odd habit of excusing himself to head to the comfort room, due to extreme nervousness.

"Ohayō!" Was the reply of another first year, with brown hair styled in a high ponytail. Shouri is Raimon's midfielder, and smallest amongst their small band of soccer players. But, despite his small size, he can pack quite a punch or even a kick if need be.

"FOOTBALL FRONTIER!" Was the ecstatic exclamation of the one and only, Endou Mamoru. He ran ahead, his earlier exclamation catching the attention of the other students that were heading to their own classrooms.

"Captain is fired up, isn't he?" Kabeyama commented, as he stared at his captain's running figure.

"It's the Football Frontier season, after all." Shouri agreed, a smile stretching on his face, as he too stared at their captain.
