A sudden noise snapped me out of my trip down the memory lane.
How could I have been so stupid to let my guard down!? I've already lost my family, I don't want to die too!
That last thought brought a few tears to my eyes but I refuse to let them drop as I quickly put down my sack of supplies (Couldn't have them weighing me down if I had to fight.) and grabbed my knife and edged towards the direction of the noise, of course checking for any signs of them first.
The coast was clear but I could never be too careful as I inched towards a stack of wooden crates where the noise seemed to have come from.
I inched closer and closer...
Welp. That was the second chapter and I am really sorry about the length of it...
