The Rumble

9 4 7

It felt like a feather
To the touch
I thought you a warming hand

The sun burned my skin
It wished to burn me to the ground
The child lost her smile

Her heart sank by the sight
The heavens darken
And I was lost.

I thought I found solace in thee
Thou rain
I thought you loved me.

Fire kindled from thy nostrils
I lost my footing
The ground open

And many fell
Fell to empty
And forsaken land

Where their nightmares ruled the day
You rumbled
And your tears fell

They descended in my heart
I couldn't shy from it
For I had caused it

I was too weak
I couldn't see
The sadness in your eyes

Forgive me my friend
Forever I desire
To remain by thy side.
